Blog.... is it worth it?

I've attempted to start a blog. I actually have a domain.

Questions for those who blog frequently:
Is it worth it? Do you feel it adds value?
I'm not a designer, so you non-designers, what do you blog about? Is it only crafting related ?

I started a blog a several years ago but found I didn't have the time to devote to it. When we moved country it was great when my children were small - lots of pictures and stories to share.

I haven't had my blog for years, I didn't use it for business, it was personal. I just googled my old blog name and it came up. I had a lot of fun scrolling thru the posts of my LOs 10 years ago. If you want to check it out, get a good laugh at my crappy LO's back then, take a look :)

Yeah I can see where it would be great for sharing stories. I’m worried I won’t maintain.

thank you for sharing… I enjoyed perusing your blog!!! Girl you have some gorgeous layouts there too!!!

My blog fell by the wayside with life becoming more hectic with having teenagers, teaching full time, and taking care of my elderly mom. I blog for Connie Prince on her blog but my personal blog has cobwebs that need to be dusted off. I've been considering starting it back up with the intention that it's an eclectic place for me to share about the things that interest me, digital scrapbooking, crocheting, cooking, and reading.

I do like the idea of it being an eclectic place vs being a repeat of what I already post on socials.

I have blogged for years. At first I used to share all sort of stuff that was going on... google doodles, books I've read, photos of travels/school, etc. Then I joined some paper scrapping / sketch teams so I started sharing my layouts. Now I virtually only share my digital layouts... and it's for all the teams I am on. I don't have a lot of traffic coming through my blog but I use it for me to keep track of what I am scrapping for who and where. I enjoy it even if nobody reads it anymore.
If you're keen to see it here it is http://whatsupwithcathy.blogspot.com/

ooo thanks for sharing. I'm gonna check it out. I'm really considering starting one myself. Just haven't pulled the trigger on it yet. LOL.

I started my blog 16 years ago at the request of the designers I was on the team with. At first I had few visitors, so I let it lie dormant, but in recent years I have had a lot of visitors, albeit without comments, but it's gratifying that so many people like my layout. I would be very happy if you would come and look at my layout.
