This month in most parts of the world we celebrate Mother's Day. My page featured a Mother's Day I celebrated with my grandchildren some years ago.
I am not asking you all to use Mother's Day as a theme but you are welcome to do so.
I hope you are all enjoying these Slow Scraps as I am so much enjoying seeing how all your layouts turn out.
Each month I will include the following instructions:
All instructions will appear in this opening post. As a member requested being able to see all steps at the start, I will be using a masking ability to cover the following week's instructions which you will only see if you click on the "fuzzy wording"
My plan is to reveal the weekly instructions on the Monday of each month which may be your Sunday.
You are welcome to share your weekly steps which I will be doing in the thread (not in this opening post). I would prefer you to only upload your finished layout at the end of the month in the gallery : Speed Scrap, Slow Scraps, Chat & Scrap then come back here and share your linked layout in this thread.
It is best not to overload the gallery with our unfinished layouts. It might confuse the Sugar Cookies who do such great job commenting in the gallery.
To share your steps as you create them, the way to do that without using the gallery is to flatten your image ( remember to save with a different name to your layered file) and save to web. Then in your post click on "attach files" which you can see below the box for your post to the bottom left.
Here we go with our May 2026 Slow Scrap instructions:
Week 1 : Choose 3 or 5 photos ( one will be used larger than the others)
Place patterned paper on your canvas that works well with your chosen photos.
Place a plain rectangle of paper portrait orientation. This should be
positioned not quite in the middle - slightly to the left.
Week 2 :
See my Week2 for placement of the following:
Circular patterned paper ( square shape will work if you are not able to create a circle,
2 plain light coloured rectangles.
one flag shape of paper or possibly piece of wide ribbon or tape if you are not able
make a flag shape. Two flags to bottom right of layout.
Photos will be placed next week covering parts of these items.
Week 3:
Add photos - largest one placed over top plain paper.
Place another flag over the top left corner of this photo.
Place the other two or four photos in an arrangement that pleases you.
Add large title or Word art or leave this off for now.
Optional step: add 3 circles using the same paper as your
plain light coloured papers from Week 2. These will be used for
placement of flowers clusters ( so as I mention - optional)
Week 4:
Add flower clusters. I hope to see at least 7 flowers used on
your layout ( unless you are creating a very masculine page).
Add anything else to make the page yours.
This month I am using the lovely Gingerbread Ladies Collab: May Flowers
