How exciting for you. I personally like both your bird pictures and your tree pictures. I think you do an amazing job with both.

I need to lose weight. I can feel the excess weight everywhere making me so uncomfortable. I am such a chubb. (I still like me, though and I love my little ballerina in my siggie. I have never been so pleased with a siggie in my life!)

Traveling to see your daughters will be wonderful. You will have lots of opportunities to take pictures on your trip!

You are a formidable opponent in survivor! I hope you join the Wafflers' Alliance when it comes around :) I scrapped on the road the year I won. My layouts were often done over a tiny table in the the middle of the "Beast from the East" snowstorm that incapacitated Britain. It was a "Road Trip" theme, so it was inspirational, since I was on a road trip. I had many a late night trying to figure out the theme of my layout.

I hope that when the time comes that I will be invited to join the alliance as well. I love survivor and it does wonders to get my mojo going. I am so looking forward to seeing what Ginger has planned for us this year.

I do not do a lot of waffling so I hope I am still eligible to join your alliance Lynnie..... :36_1_32:

You just have to ask when the time comes and OF COURSE you will be invited. You are DEFINITELY a waffler :)

Absolutely. You are a treasured waffler.

You joke about ballet class, Lynnie, but you'd be surprised! Maybe something like Pilates would be easier on the joints- ballet tends to be really hard on the knees.

I have two days of work left this week, then a three day weekend to get my house in order for my Australian visitor. I am so looking forward to getting things cleaned up! I don't really like cleaning, but it's different when guests are coming. I blasted my way through five layouts last night and am super pleased about it, considering how long my 'to-scrap' list is.

In all reality, I will probably start with walking with my friend. I doubt I could manage even Pilates right now :)

I would much rather scrap than clean, too!

Morning ladies! I just spent several minutes catching up on the thread - love to see all this chit chat! So fun. :)

Rae - I'm pretty sure I've seen you participate in the challenge a day thing before, right? If so, you could definitely manage Survivor! It's a lot less layouts, but of course, there's the pressure to make them amazing because people vote on them! Super fun though. I can't wait!

Lynnie - That's so exciting that your retirement is coming up!! Scrapping heaven!

I also love to go out and take photos of nature (and well, pretty much everything), but I just don't do it a lot. I suppose between work, homeschooling, and all the regular household tasks, I just don't have the time haha!! It would pretty much have to replace my scrapping time, which would be sad, so I don't really do it unless I really feel the urge!

As for me, so far it's a pretty normal week. Work, cooking, cleaning. Yesterday, my 13-year-old daughter had to have 2 teeth pulled, so that took quite a chunk out of our day. Thankfully, it went well, and her numbness went away in time for her to eat dinner with us. After dinner, the whole family minus the 18-year-old (who was at work) played Killer Bunnies. It's a favorite, especially of my boys. I would prefer to play Mexican Train I suppose, but I am so happy that everyone enjoys board and card games because it gets them away from their devices and video games for a while to spend some time together.

Today, I just have to do my normal stuff and then run to the next town over to grab my grocery order at Walmart. We live 25 minutes away. I just LOVE Walmart pickups! Normally, I write my menu on Wednesday, shop by adding everything to my cart on the app on Thursdays, and then schedule my pickup for Fridays when I already have to drive into town. It works wonderfully! This week, I forgot several items that we needed though, so I have to make an extra special trip tonight. Toilet paper is pretty important, haha!

I schedule anything big or heavy with Amazon so they deliver it :) I don't like grocery shopping.

Survivor is fun and challenging and the waffles alliance was awesome.

Lynnie : regarding ancestry, do you know much about the Mayflower descendants and how to prove ancestry for it.

The Mayflower Society has a form that needs to be filled out in order to help prove descendancy. The form can be found on their site (https://www.themayflowersociety.org/). They will review what you have and see if you possibly tie into any existing line. To join the Society, you need to have a proved tree, which means proper documentation, but often you don't have to trace all the way back and they are very helpful.

Oh, I'm with you on disliking grocery shopping! I do almost all of my shopping online between Amazon and Walmart. My kids make fun of me because I'll have boxes coming several times a week from Prime, but it does save me lots of trips to town!

One of my neighbours asked if I ran a business I got so many packages.... My husband has me guess what is in them before I open them. It is like Christmas, I often forget what I ordered.

Wow, what a busy few days here! I've been away too long, I see!

Our bathroom is almost totally done. It needs the glass shower door installed and the mortar on the glass block window sealed (in a couple of weeks) before we can shower in it. But I'll take pictures after the door is installed tomorrow since it'll be essentially done. :)

I'm getting more and more worried about my child. Their depression and anxiety seem to be increasing instead of decreasing. They have therapy every couple of weeks but only see the psychiatrist once every 2 months. I dislike walking on eggshells around them and the littlest things seem to set them off. I don't know if more medication or therapy will help, but I guess we will try those things, sigh.

And I know I need to change my siggy. Maybe I'll do that today?

I hate grocery shopping, our choices here are Publix or Kroger and neither really care about keeping things stocked or cutting meat properly. We do have a fabulous meat shop we visit about once a week which helps with that problem.
I am a big Amazon person between camera supplies and school supplies they come here a lot. We’ve actually had multiple Fedex trucks and UPS trucks here at the same time because they are here daily so they use our driveway to restock their trucks sometimes...

Elynnia - Oh my goodness, that is funny about the Fedex and UPS trucks using your driveway to restock!!

Lynnie - That's so funny! I've definitely had it happen where I didn't know what things were going to be too. It's so fun!

I know this is kind of random but my husband and I were talking about it today and thought I would really share a little bit more about me. Not at all anything that I keep hidden but rather things that I just don't always think to tell people.

I think everyone knows that I am a huge animal lover. When we moved into this house we had three cats. We now have four cats (we had five at one time but Andi has disappeared on us. I am holding out hope that she will come back but out here in the country there is wildlife much bigger than her so who knows) and now three dogs as well. Ripleigh was given to me by a co-worker that was moving about a year ago and she'd never been spayed so upon moving to the country she promptly got pregnant and had puppies. I had decided to keep one of the puppies as a companion to her and then the runt of the litter won my heart too so Sweetpea and Brownie were both born into their forever family.

The really interesting part is here. We are living in a very old farm house. It needs a ton of work but having lived here for over a year now, I notice that I've changed. We do without a lot of the creature comforts that so many people think are necessary to live. We heat with a wood stove, we don't have traditional electric, opting to be off the grid. We have a lot of room to roam and a really nice creek right in our back yard. I have become a much more simple person. I am using my phone as a hot spot for my home internet access and as far as "stuff" goes, I am not nearly as attached to it. I have some of my dolphins here as I love dolphins and I have my computer and the the rest of my decor is pictures of the kids and some paintings that they have done for me.

I know that there are a lot of people that would not be able to live the way that I do right now, but I personally wouldn't change it for the world.

Dorann - Love what you shared! I think living off the grid would be kind of nice. I don't know personally if I could do it, but I am sure there would be a peace to life that you just don't get normally. I enjoy watching YouTube videos about people living off the grid though. Very interesting!

I think it's wonderful that there are still places where this is possible! I love getting out in nature as much as possible but I am definitely a city girl and don't think I would know how to be anything else. I am also way too attached to netflix! I'm glad you have found what makes you happy!

Dorann, I love what you shared! I wish I had what it takes to minimalize my life :) you are awesome.

I love your new signed Lynnie

I do, too. My little 'me' makes me so happy every time I look at her making such an effort to be graceful :) She is me in all my glory, almost gray hair, chubb and everything. I did a layout using her also.

I used the bitmoji from my phone and mailed it to myself from the app. It comes across as a png file with no background, so it fits seamlessly into a layout.

The little things in life make me happy hahaha.

Michelle, that is hilarious!
Where did your siggie go?
I don't know! I UL a new one for the challenge and it took the blinkie one away. That's what happened when I UL the blinkie of CT...my regular one went away. Not sure how to have both appear like yours.

The back is much better!!! Going to the gym helped too. I gradually worked my way back to my normal routine there. There's a new instructor for the classes I've been taking. She's good but tough. Hoping it does me some good.

We attended a Native American Festival about an hour away on Super Bowl Sunday. We went early enough to be home for Super Bowl. Our 2nd year attending and it was nice. I have Native American ancestry.

The g'kiddo's are doing well. We attended a Grandparent visit at the little ones school this morning. They continued with their regular routine of the day...just with extra people there. I was impressed with how none of them overly focused on the grandparents and paid attention to routine. Ages 3 and 4. I'm sure there will be a scrap page coming of today.

The wicked weather coming east hit us hard during the night. It was super windy all day yesterday. I was tired and went to bed before 10 pm. Apparently the storm was bad here. I slept through the whole thing! There was a group text of 9 messages that I missed each and every one. Plus several on messenger asking how we were. Never heard the first 'ding' of my phone which was on my night stand at the side of my bed.

My daughter does some of the grocery online / pick up or delivery. I've never tried it. I do like Amazon prime. And very very happy with the Publix's near us. 'My' store is a mile away. There are probably 6 more within less than 5 miles.

I DL new embroidery designs. Looking forward to them.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Good morning ladies. I've been busy with CT stuff but wanted to pop in and say hi.

Dorann - I am leaning towards that kind of thinking more and more too. Not quite as minimalistic as you maybe but definitely needing and wanting less, enjoying the little things more and spending way less money than I used to (which is good b/c my salary dropped off a few yrs ago so I had to cut back on things). We talk about retirement in a few yrs and want to move out of this busy city and further out, to a smaller city/town, somewhere quieter. I love nature and animals so want to be by a woodsy area but close enough to the basic necessities like grocery stores, drugstore, etc. We might move up into the BC interior but the summer fires worry me so have to look into that, look into what areas are safer than others. Or depending on what happens with Bailey, we need to be close by to spend lots of time with her so if we can't get her moved into a facility out of the city, that will hamper our plans. I figure God/universe/a higher power will provide us with what we need, somehow it will all get figured out. But it will be interesting to see where we end up in a few yrs.

I've got lots of CT work and desk work today so not a lot of chatting from me today. I'll have more time over the wkend to hang out. Hope you are all having a great day.

Hi Michi,

I don't generally upload a signature - I have the siggie and the blinkies are uploaded offsite (I actually have my own FTP site) and I add the signature using the photo location icon above, then I click return and add the blinkies the same way, one after the other, without hitting return.

The other benefit is that the siggie always shows up properly in the galleries, which is often a problem when we upload our siggie on the site.

Thank you Lynnie. I don't have a FTP [I don't know what that is]...I do have a Flickr and a smug mug account. I think the CT gif thingy was at flickr...but I will have to look. Crossing fingers, I remember the pw.

I tried several ways. I can't get a blinky and the siggie there. It is what it is.

Michelle, have you tried to go to someone else who has the CT blinkie - copy it and then paste it into your signature when you have gone to edit signature under settings.

Yes. I was hoping that would work, but it didn't. I got 'invalid' and 'failed'.

I am not sure what I would want to stick in my signature, it's a quandary. When I figure it out, I'll test some of the forum-code I used to know and see what I figure out, Michi. I swear there's a trick to multiple images. but I am having a winnie the pooh moment.

Edit: Gone from Winnie the Pooh to John Snow, I know nothing. l o l.
