What is the weirdest gift you have ever given or got for Christmas?

I can't believe we are doing this....BUT....we are giving my MIL a TOILET for Christmas!! Yep, you heard it right, a toilet. Who does this, right!!?!?!?

So my MIL's toilet has been broken for a while. My husband has fixed it a couple of times. We asked her the other day what she would like for Christmas and she said NOTHING. Of course she has everything already and doesn't need any more gadgets, collectables or jewelry so we decided to get her something she actually needs. Her biggest need right now is a toilet. So we are getting it and having it installed. I heard my husband talking to her the other day and asked her if she picked out one and was discussing bowl shape and stuff like that...I couldn't contain myself anymore and just busted out laughing!!!

I still can't believe we are doing this. My husband said to not think of it as a gift, but simply helping her with something she needs. Ooooookay...still weird!!!

I thought you guys might get a kick out of this!!! I can't wait to hear if your stories!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

Thats too funny!!! Never heard of anyone giving a toilet as a Xmas gift but you are right....it is the perfect gift for her, that she needs LOL.

I can't think of a weird gift though, I often want kitchen stuff which some say are not good gifts for a wife but hey....I love my kitchen and gadgets and stuff, it make me happy.

A burial plot. When I got it I just didn't know what to say lol. But it was a couple of months after my ex FIL passed and ex MIL wanted us to all be buried together. Well at least I won't be using it now.

Oh Goodness, a burial plot - that IS odd.

I had a friend who used to buy the oddest Christmas ornaments for my tree that represented places he had visited. They were not even cute. We had to keep them on the tree, though, because he visited every year and liked to see them. He is gone now. We kept one and ditched the rest.

He also used to buy me odd tasting chocolate - like chocolate with Jalapeno papers and chocolate with pickles, neither of which are very appealing to me.

I loved him and he always had some really thoughtful gifts, too. He would seek out long lost old TV shows he knew I liked and buy the full DVD set, or a book he knew I would love. He was a great guy, with some odd tastes in chocolate and Christmas ornaments :)

I miss him!

I gave my mom labor pains! They went in to the hospital shortly after midnight on Christmas Eve and I was born at 4:49 Christmas morning!! :D

Awww these are great!

I'm super practical when it comes to gifts, so new toilets and kitchen stuff sound great to me, LOL. I think I would be a little concerned about the burial plot though, and would for sure think my in-laws were going to try and murder me or something if I got that as a gift.

We do gag gifts in my family. I think the same Britney Spears VHS tape has been passed around for the past 20 years or so.

Oh! My husband did get me a toilet seat once. My bathroom in the apartment we were living in had a gross toilet seat with mystery stains that wouldn't come out. So he bought me a lovely shiny new toilet seat for Halloween and installed it for me. I wish we'd taken it with us when we moved, it was nice.
