Welcome to the GingerScraps Book Club!

It's been a while since I read anything by John Grisham. I would love to join but have to pass this time. This book is so new here and a little bit too expensive to buy in a hard copy here at the moment.

I have a Little Free Library (LFL). So....for those of you interested, you can check your neighborhood to see if there's one near you. Once people are done reading books, they may share them with others by placing them in the little free libraries. It's just an idea, not specifically for this book but just in general if you like reading. I have gotten many Harlan Coben, John Grisham, Michael Connelly, Nicholas Sparks, & JD Robb books out of LFL's, and well, many many more great books and authors. One day I thought, instead of returning these books to another LFL, maybe I'll put my own up in my neighborhood to share with my neighbors. Someone in my MIL's neighborhood was selling her house and the new owners didn't want her library so she posted it for free on NextDoor. I called her and we drove the next day to get it. So I got mine free. I love it so much. And when people are done reading a book, sometimes they bring it back, or bring multiple books back. I get people donating books to me, or just walk/drive up to library and place books inside. Sometimes someone will grab 4 or 5 books but not that often. I have enough books in my stash that I would never run out, lol. I recently started making my own bookmarks to share and they've been a hit! You can find LFL by using the app which will even give you driving directions, or use the location map on the LFL website.

I haven't read a John Grisham book in a long time. When my husband I started dating (back in the 1990s), my mother-in-law was a huge John Grisham fan and I borrowed her books after she read them. I'm not sure I have the staying power to read this one this go round. I'm working so many extra hours at school at the moment that I'm there more hours than I am at home. If I sit still for more than 10 minutes, I find myself nodding off. Something that doesn't lend itself to reading even the most interesting book. Maybe if I get caught up on some sleep this weekend I can snag the book and catch up with everyone.

Dear Susan, welcome! I hope you can join us, if not this month, then next one. By the way, we're currently voting for the book we'll be reading in December, please check them out on this thread, and if you're interested in any of the options, cast your vote.
