Week of April 8, 2018: Health and Fitness!

Now that I can run/jog for short intervals during my walks, I've been doing my run/walk every other day, and doing all my other exercises (planks, supermen, squats, lunges) on the days I don't run/walk. I also do my physiotherapy exercises every day - the days I'm at work, I do them on my lunch hour.

How is everyone else doing this week?

Sunday I was pretty active. Joey had a track meet, so during the down time I would walk around all over.
Mon/Tues I was not active at all. I haven't been feeling well and it's been super busy at work and home.

Today, Jassy has a track meet, so I'll be walking around during the down time, woohoo!

Oh man, I cannot wait to get outside...it's still so cold here! Even walking the dog hasn't happened much...between the snow and rain it's so muddy and yucky!

My physical therapist gave me permission to start returning to what my normal activities were prior to my knee replacement - we're both hoping that my muscles/tendons/ligaments get used to the normal way they are supposed to work and that my pain will lessen. Went for a mile walk tonight - felt good to be out, but I'm sore now. It will be a bit before I'm back to what I was pre-arthritis.

The Commonwealth Games has been on here & I didn't buy tickets to any events (bit expensive with 5 kids) but to give them some once in a lifetime opportunities we too them to the free events. So far we have been to the mens triathlon, the mens cycling road time trials & today was the mountain biking. We have had to walk at least 1km into each venue & then wander around the free viewing areas & wander back to the car so it was around 10,000 steps by the time we got home again. Has been fun
