Using Quickpage templates

There is probably already instructions somewhere but I can't find them so if someone could lead me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

I would love to use more quickpage templates but have trouble making my pictures fit in them without one photo overlapping into one of the other frames.

It there somewhere that has easy instructions for PSE??

Thanks guys, Kim Kern

Kim, are you using a quick page which has all papers and embellishments flattened - no layers? Or are you using a template with layers?
If it is the first mentioned - no layer..... most times you place the photos on a layer below the PNG file and would need to trim photos if the frames are overlapping in style. Or you create a mask using the opening in the frame.

I went and asked "Mr Google" and found these youtube videos which should help: Part 1 and Part 2

Anne-Marie covered quick pages so I will offer tips for regular templates. I am using PSE 2018 but the process is similar in other versions.

- Bring your photo into the document and place it directly above the template photo spot in the Layers panel
- With your photo layer active - Right Click and choose "Create Clipping Mask" from the pop up/dropdown menu. The photo will get "clipped" to the photo spot. Use the transform handles to resize the photo for a better fit inside the photo spot.

Another way using the menu commands
- Bring your photo into the document and place it directly above the template photo spot in the Layers panel
- With your photo layer active go up to Menu>Layer>Create Clipping Mask. Other versions may have a different wording but should at least have the word "clipping" Resize as needed for a better fit.

Another way using keyboard shortcuts
- Bring your photo into the document and place it directly above the template photo spot in the Layers panel
- With your photo layer active press Alt+Ctrl+G to "clip" the photo to the photo spot. Older versions only used Ctrl+G to create the clipping mask. On a Mac the commands are Opt+Cmd+G

You can also use this Clipping mask feature to "clip" papers to the different shapes/layers in the template. Hope this helps.

Kim if you are using flattened pre made quick pages you will have to sometimes trim your photos to fit the spots so they don't overlap another photo. One way to do that is to draw a rectangle around the photo select inverse and then delete that will delete the parts of the photo outside the photo spot.
