Text Problems

I use PSE 18 and am having problems with my text blocks. Every time I use a template with some special formatting I can't change it in my program. I chatted with Adobe about this and they are so helpful. ;) They say I shouldn't use anything that wasn't created in PSE 18. Do any of you ladies know how to change my text back to normal after having used a template? Right now I'm trying to use a template where the text has been very tightly spaced. I think it looks terrible, but there is no way for me to change it. Help! :)
 
I was just wondering if there was a keyboard shortcut to correct the problem. I learned in PSE 7 that I could turn off all caps with the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Y. I don't know if this works in PSE 18 because I haven't had the problem come up yet. :)
 
Thanks! I made the template work by adding a space between each letter. :) I'm just hoping it will back to normal when I use a different template!
