Smoothie Recipes?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has awesome smoothie recipes which taste good and are relatively healthy?
There are so many foods I can't eat (fresh bread, meat, fruit skins, seeds, oats, coconut and much more), so I have 1 or 2 smoothies every day.

My current favorite is.....banana, milk, peanut butter, cinnamon and chia seeds.

I would love to find some more yummy recipes. :)

Lindsay, I am sorry to read you are unable to eat so many nice things. Your drink sounds interesting except for the bananas - my least liked fruit.

I have a green smoothie most mornings but they might not be good for you as I put the whole apple ( if it is organic - otherwise peel it), pineapple, sometimes strawberries or frozen raspberries and greens ( carrot tops or celery tops or english spinach etc) and also I add chia seeds. I use a Vitamix that totally liquidizes it all.

I love fruit smoothies with spinach, especially peach/banana/spinach. Looks gross, but so tasty :)

I can't seem to make myself try a green smoothie yet! I get my spinach by drying it in the oven to make chips!

My kids have been making smoothies lately. Yogurt, strawberry, banana, milk. I feel like we've tricked them somehow to eat healthy food :) They feel like they tricked us somehow to get a tasty smoothie. We are just using a cheapie Walmart blender but it is a pain to clean. Is there a easier way to make smoothies?

Lindsay- They're so good! I promise you can't even taste the spinach, as long as you use bananas. They do something magical in there that makes the spinach taste disappear :)

Gethane- I love my Magic Bullet for smoothies. Much easier cleanup than my big blender.

I love smoothies too :) I have one nearly every morning!

This is the one I had today - 2 Banana's; 1 Tablespoon Chocolate or Cacao Powder; 1 Dessertspoon or Tablespoon of Honey; 1 Dessertspoon of Almond Butter with Chia Seeds; 200 mls of Almond Milk (I don't have much dairy); a dash of cinnamon and a handful of ice cubes - blend and it tastes delicious - YUM :D

I'm also on a Wheat Free & Gluten Free (If I can) Diet - is there any other recipes that you would like help with Lindsay ??

Yours sounds similar to the one I make. I will have to try your slight variation! :)

Lindsay, another one I had today ~ 1 Banana; 1 Dessertspoon or Tablespoon of Honey; 1 Dessertspoon of Almond Butter with Chia Seeds; 200 mls of Almond Milk (I don't have much dairy); 1/2 Cup of Frozen Blueberries OR Mixed Frozen Fruit; a dash of cinnamon and a handful of ice cubes - blend and this also was delicious - YUM :D

I haven't tried this, but I watch his and his wife's vlogs, and his two-year-old and 1-year-old twins LOVE this stuff!

He has a LOT of green smoothie recipes, ones I'm sure can be modified to match your dietary restrictions :D

One of my favorites is Silk Dark Chocolate Almond Milk with a Chocolate protein powder (I use Dymatize brand - it blends great!), then I'll change it for banana, or strawberry/raspberry or PB depending on how I feel!

I make one for my mom using OJ, frozen fruit and vanilla yogurt - she doesn't eat much, but she's been drinking this without problem.

I ran across an awesome breakfast recipe on TV several years back for breakfast on the go! You can make substitutions (suggested in parentheses) for the things you cannot eat:

1 cup of your favorite 100% fruit juice
1/2 cup Oikos vanilla yogurt
1 banana
1 apple (core & peel if you must)
1/2 cup Quick Oats (you could use bran cereal, etc.)
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 cup blueberries (you can use any combo of fruits or leave out any not desired)
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon ground milled flax seed (optional)
1 tablespoon wheat germ (optional)

Pulse, puree. Add 1-3 cups ice cubes and pulse, puree again. Use less ice if you like it thinner. Enjoy!

I've made smoothies of equal parts of Nestea with Lemon & Lemonade, fresh baby spinach, 1 banana, small amount of Oikos vanilla yogurt + ice. I swear you can't taste the spinach, the lemon knocks it out.

Vanilla ice cream, lemonade, and ice makes the Chick-Filet frosted lemonade smoothie. Yum!

I have several books of smoothie recipes. Will check through it for some you would be able to consume and return to this post with them in the future.

I just got the ninja pro blender based solely on the fact that all parts are dishwasher safe. Makes life so much easier, and takes away my hesitancy to use it!

I love milk, cottage cheese, frozen strawberries, and a sprinkle of Jello ff sf cheesecake pudding mix. Seriously tastes like a milkshake!

Hey Lindsay,
Have you tried chili mango smoothie?? It is a sweet and spicy combination with good vitamin and nutrient content.

Last weekend I bought my first blender, a KitchenAid, which was on a huge sale.

Made my first smoothie:

Blend first:
150 gr cranberries (if you use dried cranberries, first place them in water for a couple of hours)
100 gr blueberries

Then add:
150 ml yoghurt
4 tablespoons cold water
2 teaspoons honey

and blend again.

Tried another recipe today:

Blend first:
50 gr cranberries
1 orange (skin removed)

Then add:
1 banana (cut into pieces)
100 ml yoghurt

and blend again.

I only have one smoothie recipe but its great!! Into my Krups blender I add, 1 banana, 5 frozen strawberries, and mango juice (pour into the blender till it hits the three cup mark when all the stuff is in there) That's it! I get all the stuff at Costco. I have strawberry seeds in mine but I am sure you can switch up the fruit or use a better pulverizer I am guessing??
I am sure you can see I am a rookie smoothie maker! I heard of Chia seeds but don't think I have seen them. BUT on occasion, I will add some Vodka in the smoothie!! Now that is fun!! Just make sure you don't mix yours up with the kiddos!! Lol!! Mine are older, but some are not quite old enough!! lol!!
