Scrapping when you don't have seasons - or your seasons are backward

In Southern California, we really don't have seasons. When all the hundreds of fabulous fall kits come around I buy them because I fall in love with them, but don't always have an easy time finding just the right pictures.

So I started thinking about snow kits - we don't have much snow here either, except up in the mountains.

Then I started thinking about Hawaii and Christmas - it is a lot different there. Santa arrives on a canoe and not quite as bundled up.

Down under, all the seasons are reversed.

So... I'd love to hear from the scrappers who don't fall into the traditional scrapping seasons - what do you do with your different seasons and different worlds?

Me? I am lucky enough to have family in England who take pictures that fit the seasons for me. I also use kits for purposes other than intended, but hey - there is a limit to that

As a "retired" designer we design things before the season actually hits so most times the CT members are using pictures from the year before. For example when a Halloween kit is released it is usually released a week (or just) before Halloween so the CT members wouldn't have currents pics as they are given (hopefully) a week to work on their layouts, so they use last years.
As for Christmas in Hawaii, there are kits out there for that.
BUT... Designers love it when someone uses their kit out of theme. It shows the versatility and does bring in more sales that way.
SOOO... scrap the pictures with whatever kit you love and get creative doing it. And if the picture doesn't match the kit, make it black and white or sepia, or even selective color one part of the picture.

Never thought about it, we have all the seasons here. Never realizing that you all don't have them. But Awesome that you have family that share photos. I use a lot of family and friends photos, they keep me in photos... I'm always getting a message with a photo that someone wants me to scrap for them...LOL And sometimes I have trouble matching some of them to kits... but I tell them when a kit pops up that it will go with I will send them the layout... They love them and keep sending the photos.

I use the kits for seasons but use them out of season a lot. I have used Christmas kits in July and Halloween kits in the summer. If I like a kit I will use it for almost anytime

I run into this all the time even though I Canadian. We have had snow for a couple weeks now, it came early, no fall photos for next year for me. And when designers are putting out spring kits, we still have a few feet of snow.
School lets out way earlier it seems in USA than us.
Beaches and cabins on lakes just are not a thing here.

i could absolutely do Hawaii at Christmas, I’ve always wanted to.

Im in Vegas - I totally hear you! I ache for the color change of the season!!! LOL

I use kits off season and just don't use the season specific things.
