What was your first job? How old were you?

I got got my first job at the age of fifteen. I worked at a greeting card/small gift shop called Potpourri, which it sold as well, imagine that, lol. I worked there for a few years. Then the manager of the Walgreens that was next door came in and recruited me. For awhile I worked both. And then went solo with Walgreens ever since. Twenty six years later, still there.

So tell us your work story.

Burger King - As soon as I turned 16 (legal age to work in our state unless it's for a family business). I hated it of course but it was a job. I only worked there for about 6 months before something better came along.

I also began working at 16. It was in a textile plant on second shift after school. Since then I have worked lots of different jobs. I think I have done a bit of everything. LOL I have worked in numerous factories, fast food joints, retail stores, a Pepsi plant, and even Security Guard Captain. It's really funny as all heck that after almost 30 years I am right back at the same company I started working at in highschool! Different department but same company. LOL Never even thought about that until now.....

At 16 I was a page at the local public library. That meant I re-shelved books. Yep, we were called pages for some reason. It was an easy job for a booklover and introvert like myself. It introduced me to many books I would have never otherwise discovered.

That is probably my dream job :)

I was 16 as well that seems to be most state laws for teens working. I worked at Dillards Department store cleaning it in the early morning hours before school started. And sometimes on the weekends they would need extra people to come work the docks and take the merchendise off the trucks and put them on racks. You made more money when you did that so lots of people would sign up. I also worked for Chandler's Dad at his motel and cleaned rooms. Now that was a nasty job, tip your maids people they see a lot and have to clean up a lot of nasty stuff!
