Printed Albums

I'm so happy I finished our 2016 album and got it sent to Shutterfly yesterday. Now I can dig in to 2017! I also received a free 8x8 photobook coupon in a Kohl's order and made an album for my mom for mother's day. I'm pretty excited I wont be scrapping our Christmas photos over the summer this year.

:D

How are your albums progressing so far?

I'll never print an album. LOL I make too many layouts.

I was hoping to create one for each of my kids for when they graduate (8-10 years down the road), but at this rate it would be 500 pages or bigger
:36_11_20:

I organize my my layouts by date of photo taken, but just can't figure out how to get a yearly album printed. It's so hard to choose which layouts deserve printing since I have so many!

I am currently working on my son's trip to Philmont album but my problem is I can only do it when he's around since I want the journaling in his voice.

I'm about 1/5th of the way through our Disney and Universal Studios album.

I print about 3 Shutterfly albums a year. I don't necessarily scrap chronologically but I file them by year/month so that I can compile them chronologically into a book for printing. I like my books to be chrono. It just makes way more sense in my brain. My kids do NOT get a book of their own but they will get a digital copy someday. If they want them printed then they can pay for it. One book is expensive (mine run about $125/3 times a year on average and that is WITH a coupon code).

Oooh that's exciting! I will be have another photobook printed tomorrow and it will take at least 3 weeks to process. I annually print my daughter's photobook but what I'm excited about is our pl 2016, a few more tweaks hopefully I could send them to the press soon :)

I love hearing how everyone does their albums (or doesn't!).

I definitely don't print every page I create. I make specific pages for our albums and generally scrap pretty chronologically for those. I like the album to flow, so it's easier for me to scrap that way. I print chronologically, too! I can't imagine doing it any other way.

Our annual albums run between $80-90 with a coupon from Shutterfly. We do the 10x10, though. I'm excited to see what the 8x8 looks like because they do a lot of free books of that size and it might make for good gifts in the future, too. And for those with kids, less then $10 for a 20 page album for the kiddos can't be beat!

I only print out P52 pages or big vacation type albums.

I was so excited when I printed out 2015!! I am at a stall with 2016 since we were gone for 1 month last year.

I'm half way to finishing up our big Philippines trip from 2016, by the time I'm done it will be over 100 pages, lol

And I'm on track for P2017!! No big out of town vacations this year so hopefully I can keep up, ha!

Question for those who print 8X8 books, what's the minimum print size you recommend to be readable ?? That's my biggest concern in creating a 12 X 12 page, is shrinking it down to 8X8 you won't be able to read my journaling

I just received my free 8x8 book and I use 12 pt KG When Oceans Rise font and it's definitely readable.

Almost all my books are 8X8 and it depends on the font. I would n't go down to 10 unless it was a bolder font for journaling.

I'm basically caught up for 2017. I like to work that way, so I don't forget what I'm doing. But I'm also working on some other projects, too - a vacation book from our trip last week, a few baby books, and getting a head start on 2018 calendars.

I print 10x10 lay flat books because I mostly create in a double page format and I don't like losing things in that gutter. I don't mind paying for the upgrade since the books are very nice and they fit on my shelves better than the 12x12. I prefer AdoramaPix for printing books, but since they have an upper page limit of 76, I usually buy Shutterfly books. Their upper limit is 110 in the lay flat version.

I print a lot, well when I get to it. Currently Scrapping Simply is having a 30%off sale.
I'm UL my Hawaii at the moment.
