Today is December 2. For those of you celebrating Christmas, is your tree up yet? Any decorations?

monday, DH came home later than usual from work and little D was here 14 hr. I was tired.
maybe today...

I surprised everyone in the house and did all the decorating on Friday.... We didn't go as all out as we normally do this year (because my sister has a 1 year old she'll be bringing over) it still looks great!!

We'll be getting our tree this weekend.... right now the living room is piled high with boxes of decorations. I had good intentions of getting that done last weekend.... but that didn't happen! :)

I usually decorate before Thanksgiving, or for sure that weekend, but with my back surgery theres no way I can do it myself, so maybe we can get to it when my Mom comes again, otherwise we'll be like this this year....

We have a tradition. Every year we travel to our family (3 hours away) for Thanksgiving. I go do Black Friday with my MIL and then we come home Friday or Saturday and travel "up the hill" to choose and cut our Christmas Tree Saturday or Sunday.
We had rain Saturday and a little break in the weather Sunday morning. So, we timed everything perfect.
We woke up early, got there by 9 am, had hot chocolate and fresh apple donuts, made it to the tree farm by 10, Tree in the back of the truck by 11, just in time for the storm clouds to wash down our tree on the drive home. We got our tree decorated that night, and the Village and outdoor lights up yesterday. I do still have some misc. decorations to put up and the tree still needs presents under it, but otherwise, we are all set.

Our tree is up, super early this year, it must be a record! We (the kids) had it up since the Wed before Thanksgiving. They did most of it by themselves. We have an artificial tree, old school!, that has separate branches for each tier. I helped them put it together and fluff the branches. My older son and I strung up the lights. Then the two littles went to town on the ornaments, added sunglasses, coins, flags, whatever they found around the house, haha!

The tree is UP! I placed a couple pics on FB but will scrap. Ours is artificial because: DD allergic to pine... and we live in Florida.

I put our tree up yesterday, but our lights have somehow broken in the past six months (We had Christmas in June with my stepson when he was here this summer). So I guess we'll be getting new lights. Has anyone tried the light repair kit thingy?

(sorry for the double post Sugar Cookies)

We bought a real tree for the very first time this year. :) My DH's uncle has a Christmas Tree farm, so we went there to get ours. I usually only buy a wreath from them but we thought this year would be a good time to try a real tree since our fake one fell apart.
(*man new artificial trees are EXPENSIVE!**)

Anyhoo...we put it up on Sunday and it's made the house smell so good! It's really pretty but the ornaments keep falling off the branches because they are not as strong as a fake tree and my ornaments are very heavy! LOL...other than that, it's beautiful!

My husband has requested no tree up until the weekend after my birthday, which is Monday, so nope, no tree yet.

Here's last year's tree (same tree each year, just different placement of ornaments):

We haven't found the perfect topper yet, so it's always naked up there
hehe

:shh
My tree was up the day before Thanksgiving! First time I've done that. But Thanksgiving was so late this year, I figured, "what the heck!"
Our Advent counter was also out and ready to go on Thanksgiving and I'm glad, cause I forgot about it til dd announced that December 1st had come and gone with only her remembering to do it.

We (almost) always put it up on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Sometimes if Thanksgiving is super early, we wait until the following Sunday. So yes, ours is up!

We have a 9ft artifical tree that we put up (we have 14ft ceilings in my living room, garland with light, nutcracker and wire/wood type trees on the fireplace, a few lights on the bushes outside plus small little things around the house. Santa place mats in the kitchen and a little Santa frog with cookies on the stove. 2 manger scenes (kid friendly).
We have a tradition of buying an ornament when we go on trips or vacation. Instead of crazy souvenirs we buy an ornament. This year we added Paris and Disney World to the tree! Our tree is full of collected ornaments from family or us.

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!! :) Right now I have a little elf in my Christmas tree! I guess I should answer the question. LOL We put our tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving. Hubby is home on Friday and all weekend so lots of time to get it done.

That is a fantastic idea!!! love that!

I am also a Christmas lover. ;) I buy the kids an ornament every year and then date it and put a little note inside the box about why this ornament means something. I try to find something that represents their interests at the age they are at each year. When they move out, they can take the ornaments with them and have a good collection started for their own trees with memories of their childhood. :) My son has things like a karate guy, soccer santa, Baby's first Christmas (of course!), guitar, angry bird, spongebob etc. My daughter has dora, gingerbread girl (she went through a huge gingerbread phase at 2!) and princess etc. This year I have a trombone for my son and my daughter gets Elsa from Frozen. :)

Myself, I collect Santas. They have to be interesting and not bland. I have to love the faces too (no creepy. leering Santas here! LOL) My father in law started me collecting "Clothtique" Santas when my Dh and I got engaged. They are really intricate paper mache Santas and I love them. I have 13 of them and they aren't made new anymore. I think there are 20 in the whole collection so I'm always on the lookout for more through estates sales and auctions. They are very hard to find. :)

@Kimberly I love that idea. I've actually been meaning to start that tradition for years but it wasn't until last week that we got our first- from New Orleans :)
