May 2026 Book Choices

Grace.

Sugar Cookie : GingerScraps Praise Team {Lead}
Hi everyone! hope you all are doing well! in May we'll have the same format, and we'll have two book options to read, you can choose one of them, or both it's up to you. I've noticed that many times you can't find in your library the book chosen for the month, and I thought that having two books might make it easier for you to choose one, that said, for the month of May, our first reading option will be:

GET A LIFE CHLOE BROWN by Talia Hibbert (Goodreads description)
It's an adult contemporary romance fiction book.

and our second reading option will be:
WINTER GARDEN by Kristin Hannah (Goodreads description)
It's a historical fiction book.

This time we have different genres, and in my opinion both books sound quite interesting. I haven't read either of them yet, but I plan to read both, so I'll be reading them along with you. We will discuss the books all month long.
Just to recap, we'll be reading books that you all choose through a vote from 11th to 17th, we will follow this outline, for a better organization, and to give a chance to everyone to get the books on time.
Please continue suggesting books you'd like us to read together IN THIS THREAD, all genres are welcome, and you can add as many as you like!

*In this month's voting poll, two books received the same score, and only one vote less than one of this month's winning books. If you'd like us to read these two books in June, please let me know in the comments:

The borrowed life of Frederick Fife by Anna Johnston (goodreads description)
It's contemporary family fiction.

The violin conspiracy by Brendan Slocumb (goodreads description)
It's a mystery thriller, music fiction.

If you are agree that we'd read these books in June, leave a comment in this thread, otherwise we will have a voting poll for the June's books.
Thank you so much for reading, and I hope several of you will choose to join us.
Wonderful day everyone!

I'm super excited for both of these picks!! I downloaded Get A Life, Chloe Brown to start first!

I have read Winter Garden which I really enjoyed. I plan on reading the ending again to make sure I have remembered it correctly. I look forward to reading what others think of the story.

The second book, I will not be reading as it does not really appeal to me.

@Grace. For June, I would be willing for us to have those other books you mentioned. I just finished reading The Violin Conspiracy which was a well written book and held my attention all the way through. The second book, I think I would be interested in reading.

Thank you so much dear Anne-Marie @A-M for your comment. I'll wait to hear to the rest of the participants, and if they all agree will be reading for June

The borrowed life of Frederick Fife by Anna Johnston (goodreads description)
It's contemporary family fiction.

The violin conspiracy by Brendan Slocumb (goodreads description)
It's a mystery thriller, music fiction.

@kelley welcome to the book club, I can't wait to read your comments. I'll start Get A Life, Chloe Brown on this weekend too :) happy reading

I'm open to those 2 choices for June too. Neither are something I'd normally pick, but honestly I love that because I enjoy reading different and interesting things!

GET A LIFE CHLOE BROWN just arrived to my libby (library) app! I will start it as soon as I finish the one I'm currently reading :)

I started to read Get a life Chloe Brown, the reading is easy and so far I'm enjoying it.

I've started the audiobook for Get a Life Chloe Brown. I'm on chapter 10. So far it's okay, but I'm not hooked quite yet. We will see!!

For May, I'll be reading Winter Garden. My sister that reads a lot gave me this book (along other others that I want to read) last year. Her book club had read it last year.

I just started Winter Garden this morning! I've loved every Kristin Hannah book I've read so far, so I'm excited.

I read the Chloe Brown a while back, don't think I recall enough to add insight or comments.
