Looking for creative ways to resize and combine layouts for album?

Have any of you done resizing of 12 x 12 layouts and combined them to make a 12 x 12 album (or other size)?
I'm thinking of resizing current layouts down to 6x6 and combine 4 onto a 12/12 layout.
Will I have problems with text resizing into too small to read? Any creative ways you have combined layouts? cropped parts of layouts and made collage. I've thought of simply resizing and printing and then getting a frame I can just rotate pages when I want, but even 8x10 prints are more expensive then a 100 page shutterfly when they have unlimited pages. I'm talking 150-200 random layouts; some 12x12 and others 8 1/2 x 11. Thanks for any creative ideas.

I have had books made 12x12, 8x8 and 6x6. You can get them printed at Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, etc.... really cheap. I prefer Walgreens. They have sales all the time and they do awesome work or you dont pay. Then you can go to Michaels. Hobby Lobby or any large scale craft store or online places and get books with clear pages and you can make your own books. Years ago I used a large company that would bind the books. It is a bit expensive but when I sent mine in they contacted me and offered me free service if they could use my pages as their sample online. WOOHOO . lol They said they had never gotten a set of pages as good as mine. hahaha I am a retired nurse and long time professional photographer so I use to have a printer that would print 12x12. If you were interested in investing in a printer like that. They aren't too bad. I prefer just using a store. Walgreens doesnt make you pay them if you dont like them. Hope this helps.....
