Hello from Sheridan in England

Hello! My name is Sheridan Parsons and I live in Wiltshire in England. I am quite new to digital scrapbooking (just over four weeks) but I'm loving it so far. I have previously used Photoshop and Elements, so thankfully the learning curve has not been too steep and I have been able to get straight into being creative. I am a very keen family historian and I am currently digitising all my family photos, so heritage scrapping is definitely going to be my speciality. Scrapbooking has already revolutionised the way I blog and share my family stories. I am trying to trace living relatives for the subjects in some of my old photos so I can return them to family members. It's great being able to produce colourful layouts which inspire people to share my appeals. The biggest thing I need to do now is build a good stash. I've struggled to find the kind of things I need for UK heritage scrapping (I've blogged about this problem). I'd love to encourage the GingerScraps designers to create just a few UK oriented kits (as distinct from kits for American tourists in the UK). I have lots of ideas if you're interested in this. In the meantime there's such a lot to learn about: challenges, jargon, copyright, techniques... It's a bit overwhelming! I'm getting there, but of course it will take time. You can find me all over the internet (links to my social media accounts are on my website), so please do say hello. I'd especially like to hear from any UK digiscrappers as we seem to be a bit of a rare breed! I look forward to getting to know everyone and participating in challenges. I might even dive straight into the Survivor season! See you around!

Glad you have joined us! Survivor is going to be a lot of fun, hope you get a chance to participate in that with us. There is a lot to learn in digi scrapping but you go at your own pace, most importantly, enjoy the experience, enjoy creating your layouts and be sure to ask any questions that come up. We're here to help if we can.

Hello! Welcome to GS! I am glad to see you are heritage scrapping. I love it. I can't wait to see what you create. I hope that lots of designers come up with kits for you!

Welcome to GS Sheridan! How very cool to that you are heritage scrapping...and keeping a blog. Your family must really appreciate your efforts. I am always in awe of family stories and traditions. I hope you can find kits related to the UK, but in the meantime, you can look through ABD Designs. She has amazing kits for heritage scrapping. Can't wait to see your layouts!

Thank you! I just downloaded the ADB kit from the Welcome Wagon and there are some certainly great things in there! I'll be sure to explore for more.

Welcome, Sheridan. I see you have posted some wonderful heritage layouts, you have jumped in with both feet. There are so many lovely heritage kits that might fit part of the bill. We have a lot of folks from Australia and Britain, so perhaps something more specific would be lovely. I am a huge family history fan and have done quite a bit of heritage scrapping.

Anyway, you will love all the inspiration and things we do here. It is such a wonderful site and so very welcoming.
