Favorite Authors

Hey all, I love reading a good book! So many old threads in here with lots of ideas! I'm looking for the new and current trends though. Hoping to spark some interest!!! :)

Who are some of your favorite authors? One's you go back to over and over again. (Kind of like comfort food).

Richelle Mead
Sarah Dessen
and my newest one: Sarah J Maas

Hey, I love a good book too! :)

Authors I go back to:

Kristin Hannah
Jan Karon
Colleen Hoover

Um, there are more, but I'd have to go scan my bookshelves. I'll do that later and come back.

These are the authors I always go back to

David Eddings
Nora Roberts
Jane Austen

They're only the top 3. I could go on........

I really hadn't read that much on a regular basis until last year. My tried and true authors are:
Nicholas Sparks
Jodi Picoult
Janet Evanovich

Authors I have recently discovered that are favorites:
Rachel Hanna - clean romances
Wendy Dranfield - crime thrillers - I'm on book 8 of Detective Madison Harper series (continuing) - best mysteries I've ever read
Sharon Sala - I'm in the middle of her Blessings, Georgia series - clean romance with a bit of mystery.
Lisa Scottoline - legal thrillers
Victor Methos - legal thrillers
Robert Bailey - legal thrillers (can you tell I work in the legal field? I'm a civil litigation paralegal)
That's it for now.

I read many of the authors already mentioned. I don't think these have been mentioned:

  • Shari Lapena
  • Megan Miranda
  • Paula Hawkins
  • Tarryn Fisher
  • Riley Sager
  • Joy Fielding
  • Gillian McAllister
  • Harlan Coben
  • Elin Hilderbrand
  • Jayne Ann Krentz
  • Alice Feeney
  • Andy Weir (sci-fi)
  • Michael Crichton (sci-fi)
  • Holly Black (fantasy)
  • Alice Hoffman

Love Jane Austen! and few more, but not all of their books like I do with Jane.

Last autumn I started reading "Normal People" by Sally Rooney, when I wasn't scraping, and last week I found the series on Hulu, and I still don't know whether to watch the tv show or just read the book.

Lots of great suggestions here but I didn't see much sci-fi/fantasy or post apocalyptic fiction, which are my favorite. Here are some of my go tos if you like those genres:

Terry Brooks
Kim Harrison
Anne McCaffrey
Piers Anthony
Robert Jordan
Joe Hart (Last Girl)
Christopher Rice (Bone Music)
Patrick Ness

Robert R. McCamnon (Swan Song-if you like post apocalyptic stories you'll love this!)
