Do you have friends or family members who "help" with your scrapbooking?

Hi all! So, after years of watching me make digital pages, my sweet hubby has asked me to show him how to use some of the software (mainly to edit photos). So I joked with him that he's headed toward becoming a scrapbooker, himself! Ha!

My daughter will send me photos that she "approves" to scrapbook. And the youngest nephew will suggest I take him on photo shoots so I have things to scrapbook. Too funny.

Do any of you have "helpers" who contribute to your scrapbook pages?

Hubby admits I know more about Photoshop than he does, which is true. I've been using it for 14 years, LOL! And some of my extended family have asked me to do various projects for them. My kids pretty much know that whatever they send me will end up on a scrapbook page- I've given them the link to my gallery here. But no, I don't have any helpers like you do, Shana, and I have no idea if anyone will want my stuff when I finally depart to the great scrapbooking crop in the sky. :)

No, I haven't got any helpers. Most of my acquaintances know that I'm really handy with Photoshop and ask me for help to make posters or special cards.
The photos I use are mostly made by myself or my husband but I also use Pexels especially when I need photos of children. I have a nephew living in the USA, I use photos of him when I need boys photos. But he's getting older now and I can't use his baby photos over and over, LOL.

Thanks, Yvonne. I find that I sometimes re-use my favorite photos. And it's amazing how different the story of those photos can be told with a different layout or a different kit. I don't think there are any rules on how often a photo can be used! LOL!!!

When I look back over all the layouts I have made over the years because I put them in folders and have gone thru EHD and combined them all I can see now how many times I have used the same photo but many different ways. I need to start looking more thru the same time periods for other photos that I have not used...maybe I need to make another folder within the folder I have of photos to use divided up into all kinds of photos and put the ones I have used in a used folder within the folder. LOL does this make sense.....it seems mighty goofy to me once I look at what I typed. But it true I have tried to organize these put I don't always put the newer photos into the folders I have to get better at doing that

My daughter helps me all the time, she is a scrapper too from a young age, but is too busy now. My son once in a while will indulge my need for photos, but he demands approval of each and every one, which I let him. My Mom was a scrapper too, and always was nice to do with her. I have met so many really good people in person from scrapping.

My daughter Gabrielle is 13 and is my biggest "helper". She often looks over my shoulder and gives advice. She also comes up with fun photo ideas for layouts. When something is wrong with a layout, I'll ask Gabrielle or my husband. I'll say, "Something is wrong with this but I'm not sure what!" They'll almost always give me some feedback that helps me fix it.

I'm not sure anybody will want my stuff either, but it's still awfully fun to create it. It will be there if they want it I guess!

Mom and I used to scrap together since we both enjoyed photography and preserving family history. Sadly Mom's health has not been very good over the past couple of years and with the pandemic we have not gone to any crops but have joined in a few on-line ones. I have many friends that I have met at crops over the years and we still get together.

Not really. I wish I did. My daughter-in-law (well, ex-DIL) used to be a scrapper, but not for years. I wish I did. Every once in a while, I meet up with scrappers from my former site days (the site closed down) and we scrap together. It is so much fun. We used to have scrapping conventions. I miss those days.

Re: Do you have friends or family members who "help" with your scrapbooking?

I know what you mean, Lynnie. We actually lost two of our local scrapping friends in my community a couple of weeks ago. One of the other members is now putting together a crop for the rest of us to raise money for the local humane shelter (one of the deceased scrapper's favorite charities). I'm excited because I haven't seen some of the ladies who have RSVPd to attend in 10+ years. I think I'm the only digital scrapper in our group, so they've already warned me to bring an extension cord! LOL!
