Album & Layout Goals for 2019

Let's all work together to help each other complete and print albums in 2019!

So, looking back at my layouts that I created in 2018 - I did a ton of layouts (210 of them), but did not finish and print a single album. Ugg! I have a couple that are soooooo close, that I am not sure why I didn't just finish them. I did print one album last year, but it was one that I completed before and just never printed.

With that in mind. I am setting myself a few scrapbooking goals:
1 - Finish my Hawaii 2009 Album - pages needed: 7-10
2 - Finish my Disneyland April 2012 Album - pages needed: ? less than 3? (for this one, it feels done, so I am not sure why it is still sitting here unprinted. My goal today is to figure out how close it is)
3 - Lay out and hopefully finish my Family 2012 Album - pages needed: 20+ (am not really sure on this one since I don't have it laid out - yes, I really still am trying to finish 2012!)
4 - Get Disneyland June 2012 Album laid out for completion. Complete at least 20 pages in it.

Scrapbook Pages completed goal - 250

How about you??

Oh my goodness, I have no idea! It all depends on how many pictures I take and how many I get from my husband/others in my family. I'm actually still waiting on photos from my son's wedding 5 months ago, LOL!

That's some serious goals! I have noticed over the last few weeks that my pages are all over the place. Some are done in one year and then some are done for other years. I am not consistent. How do you know which pictures you have scrapped and which ones you haven't?

For me, it is easier since I work out of albums. Therefore, I open an "album" and the pages are in order. If I am really organized, I can even do a page description/place holder to let me know what needs to be done on that page. Like this is my Hawaii Album. You can see which pages need to be done and what page they would be in the album.

What do others do to track their albums?

I have just recently also started an Excel tracking document. It lists date completed, designer/kit, temp designer/temp name, Layout Name, Album Name and then link to gallery. I have been trying to go back and list my old ones, but my gallery is almost 1,000 now!!

I need to print my MOC Six album, it’s ready to go just waiting for a code.

Would like to do the same with MOC7 if I finish this month.

I need to organize, finish maybe a couple pages my trip to Toronto book from 2017. It’s close to being done.

Ive barely started scrapping a trip to ottawa in 2016. I’d like to get it wrapped and printed.

I have a kid graduating soon, I’d like some kind of school album for her by then.

Printing is my biggest hold up. I’d prefer to have bound books, but that means a project needs completely done before printing.

Sherri - is "MOC" stand for Month of Challenges, that is the only thing that I have seen? Does that correlate to a particular time frame?
It sounds like you are way more on top of finished albums than I am. I guess next time there is a sale, you should be ready to go. I have started uploading my pages to the site for printing in advance of the deal.

What service does everyone use?

For finished books, I have been using Shutterfly. I tried using Blurb since I heard their quality was great, but they want me to download a program just to upload to their site. That seems weird. For just pages, I was using Persnickety.

Meagan- could you explain your "albums" process? What program is the screenshot from? I am working on a memory book for my husband and currently just number my pages and scrapping chronological. I am so slow and get easily sidetracked when working on a page that isn't coming together smoothly. Am thinking I might make faster progress if I could do "easier" pages and work out of order rather than chronological. This is my first book project so I am kind of lost on how to plan and map it out so your method looks appealing and helpful.

I have so many albums to finish - but I doubt I'll get to them much. I am determined to complete a layout a week for the year, though, and maybe do a back year also.

What service does everyone use? I use Persnickety, but I noticed that I have pages from all different times of the year. It is crazy. I don't have enough albums for the pages, so I have to figure that out, too.

I would like to finish my daughter's Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior year books.... 20 pages each. So I'll be on the look out for fun high school kits - volleyball, golf (I have Lindsay Jane's golf kit and love it!!), cheer, choir, prom, social media, all things teen. I have 10 weeks before I have to go back to work at the golf course --- help me stay focused!!!

Right now, I am aiming to finish my 2018 project life and my Disney album. I'm hoping to get everything done before the summer.

Oh this is a good idea!! I have a junior right now, and I really want to get on top of finishing her scrapbooks by the time she moves out. Doing freshman, sophmore, etc books sounds like an awesome plan!

I'm not an album scrapper. I'm kind of a whatever-I-feel-like-scrapping (with no rhyme or reason at all) kind of scrapper. That said, one of my big scrapping goals for the year are to finally do a P52 album. I've never done one yet in my 9 years of scrapping. I also want to do the challenges each month at my fave stores, and then get my oldest daughter a bound book (or multiple) printed up. I've never printed a book, it is just so intimidating for me! I don't plan on putting the pages in any specific order, just throwing them all in there for her. But still, it scares me, mostly because I'm worried about parts of my pages being cropped out by binding...

I have several trips I need to scrap. I'd like to finish a book for my daughter by her birthday in August that has our whole trip to NYC together. I think that would be special to her.
I also would like to just do 1-2 pages a month of what is currently going on in our lives. It's so much harder now that my girls are older (20 and 16). I just don't get my camera out for every day photos like I used to...but I'm sure they have pics I could scrap.

Good luck everyone!

This year I want to...

1. Finish PL2018. I dropped the ball in July after our trip and I really want to finish it up.
2. I'll try to finish PL2017. I have about 8 more weeks, I'm just not motivated.
3. Print everything out so I can stick a fork in it...haha!

For albums, I'm very OCD and chronological. I organize everything in the folders with dates, numbers, short description.

For printing, I just do it at home. I scrap in Word and save in paint, so the resolution is terrible for online places. But it's also okay for me since I can just print whenever and get it instantly.

I have 4 albums to complete for our local football clubs with last seasons photos but have not even started yet & also need to complete an album from our trip to Tonga last september
I hope to at least get these done & possibly get at least 1 layout a week for this year done so I can get an album printed for 2019
