I never lived on a farm, but my grandfather and my uncle were farmers. My mother always loved planting a garden and even when there wasn’t room enough where we lived for our own garden she would find places to go in the summer, and there was always a lot of canning and freezing going on… our Freezer was always full at the end of the summer and the shelves in the cellar were full of fresh canned tomatoes, peaches, green beans, pickles and relishes. This kit was inspired by sweet memories I have of visiting my grandparents on their farm, and then of my Mom and my grandmother working together to put food up for the winter.
