Last night we were supposed to have slow cooker chicken fajitas. I emphasize supposed to because well, I put the crock pot on low and not high. I apparently do not do well with video recipes off of face book. So at about an hour into it I realized my error. And then once put on high, hubby was too hungry to wait the three more hours. I won't give up on this recipe though. Do you have any favorites that you make in your crock pot? Care to link us up with the recipe?

Yes! My crockpot is my modus operandi during basketball season. At least 2 nights a week (game nights) we eat from the crock pot - that way no matter when we get home there is a hot meal waiting with absolutely no waiting. I mostly make soups, chilis, stews.

I enjoy the slow cooker too. However... if I'm at home it is much faster to cook it regular style.

I use my crockpot at least 3-4 times a week. I've made soup in it, breakfast, desserts. Just yesterday, I cooked a spaghetti squash in it. So easy! And I've never made a roast in the real oven, only the crockpot.

All winter mostly!! Great for soups, stews, pot roast etc. :) I even do up some candied almonds in it for Christmas. It's also great for making caramel in a can because the water doesn't boil away.

I love mine. I also have a counter top roaster oven that is huge. We use it to make turkeys and 2 or 3 chickens at a time for lodge dinners. I also use it to make chili in big batches (usually 14 pounds of it) that DH and I freeze for his lunches over the winter.

I always want to use mine more, but so often I find that the meals in the crock pot kind of come out the same.... mexican flavored slop, Italian flavored slop, Indian flavored slop..... that I don't end us using it as much as I would like.
There are 3 meals that I consistently use it for and have for years.

. Whole turkey breast. I do this a few times a month. Put a whole turkey breast in the CP and set to low. Add a little liquid (I usually use wine, but have used orange juice, pineapple juice, broth, water, etc), a diced onion on top, whatever spices you want (rosemary and thyme is a big one here, but I have done Italian spices, mexican spices, jerk rubs, anything) and set to go for maybe 6-8 hours. The turkey seriously falls off the bone

This chili https://www.food.com/recipe/grannys-slow-cooker-vegetarian-chili-51140 although I often brown some ground beef or turkey and add that too.

This chicken https://www.food.com/recipe/crock-pot-chicken-with-black-beans-cream-cheese-89204 - awesome because you can use frozen chicken breasts.... which is good for me because I forget to thaw the day before. And you don't have to add the cream cheese at the end if you want to keep it a little lighter.

thanks for for the recipes!!!

my crock pot is my lifeline in the winter... I use it for stews, soups, the one I have is really big and I have cooked a small turkey in it before.... love to put in a whole chicken, pulled pork, pork roasts, chicken breasts.... I don't really have any specific recipes I just throw in whatever I have and let it go....but I LOVE it!!!! Plus, I am very impatient at meal time... I don't "feel like cooking" until I am hungry and when I'm hungry I want to eat NOW not however long it takes to wait for meat to cook in the oven. There are so many great recipes out there.... I even read a blog one time wher the person used her crock pot 365 days in a year.... I think she even made a cookbook about it. I don't remember the name but if you goold crockpot 365 or slow cooker 365 I bet you will find it. :)

I haven't used my crock pot in years...I just found a recipe for "easy" potato cheese soup that I'm going to try this week. I'll share the recipe if it comes out tasting good! :)

I love using mine, especially during the summer when it's too hot to turn on the oven.

My very favorite chicken recipe comes from the site Jenn mentioned (there are tons of other great recipes on there too) https://www.ayearofslowcooking.com/2008/10/crockpot-rotisserie-style-chicken.html

I use this recipe for mashed potatoes on holidays (it makes a ton) https://www.pillsbury.com/recipes/u...potatoes/17bd54d5-2647-4144-8579-0cb1b26bc0ba

I think Thanksgiving is the best time to use the slow cooker too. I'll be trying some of these this year https://www.slowcookerfromscratch.com/2013/11/50-recipes-for-slow-cooker-thanksgiving.html
