Easy peasy extractions in GIMP

I found this awesome and super easy tut on extractions for GIMP...I've only been using GIMP for like a week and did an extraction that came out incredible (if I do say so myself-LOL!) and it only took me like 15 minutes!!! You can find it HERE...
 
Thank you! I use Pixelmator but I was able to figure it out from this tut. All the stuff is there, just in different menus. This will definitely come in handy! :D On the off chance there are any other Pixelmator users out there, let me know if you need help finding any of it. :)
 
I've used this method before in photoshop too. I've had trouble with it on some pics, so watch for strays and jaggy edges, but it's definately a good way!
