Goodreads is the largest site for readers and book recommendations in the world. Goodreads users recommend books, compare what they are reading, keep track of what they've read and would like to read, find their next favorite book, form book clubs and much more!

If you have a goodreads profile, share your link so we can add each other - you might just discover some wonderful new books (and I promise to totally stalk your shelves like crazy!)
:)

I have one. I am trying to pull up my profile, but the site seems to be down. I'll check back in a minute! :)

I get SO excited about new Goodreads friends! LOL! Means I get to spend a good bit of time stalking the heck out of their different shelves! ;)

This is just personal opinion, of course, but...

When I started my account, I did go in and add a few of my most recent read books. Yes, it gave me a record of what I had read, which was nice, but mostly it allowed Goodreads to start building lists of recommended books for me (it has an option to recommend books based on genres, your current books, to be read shelf, read shelf, etc). Because I had taken a huge break from reading before starting my account, I didn't know of some of the latest books by authors I already loved OR about new authors similar to those I already read from that I might fall in love with. It's certainly not required, but that's why I added a few.

As for audio books, when you add a book to any of your shelves (Want to Read, Currently Reading, Read, etc), under the book cover and description, there is a section called My Review. Under that section is the word Format, which a preselected format after it (Hardcover, Paperbook, etc) and an edit option. If you click on the edit option, most of them should have an audible version for you to choose from. So if you're wanting to truly designate which version of a book you "read", paper copy, e book, audio, etc, you can do it there.

I guess I should use Goodreads. I just never did it. I always feel a little "guilty" when others know I'm not always reading "quality" books. LOL

Don't we all have our "guilty pleasures"? Zero judgement here because my list may have some questionable material as well... lol

No judgements here, either. After all, isn't part of the fun of reading to be able to engulf yourself in a fantasy world? About the best description for some of those "non-quality" books I know! ;)

My husband and I call them "mind candy" - books that are light reads, or easy reads, or just-for-fun reads! I should really get on Goodreads myself!

I've read lots of books people would not approve of, but I love the story lines and I get caught up in the characters. One author I love writes about a topic I love and has about 8 or 10 books that follow the lives of the same characters. I was so sad to have read the last one.

Wait what??!! I never heard of this! I am so going to join! Just Read Where the Crawdads Sing which was good. Thanks for all the good info JoyLynn, I was looking for a good audiobook app and no one knew of one. Can't wait to check it out! TY!!

Oh! ME for sure! I'm on Goodreads all the time. I read almost exclusively children's and YA (re:job; re: have the job because I like children's and YA :D) but I turn over 12-15 books a month usually and I looove to booknerd.

Definitely add me!

Currently reading: Radium Girls by Kate Moore
Last read: Merci Suarez Changes Gears by Meg Medina, Newbery Medal winner 2019 (It was absolutely adorable, made me cry twice and totally deserved that award.)

Have you checked with your local library? A lot of libraries have tons of digital audiobooks through Overdrive, and Overdrive just made a new app called Libby that's super easy to use. I love it for audiobooks.
