Hi! I'm Melly. I'm coming over from DSDI also. I was around here for the last season of Survivor too!

I've been designing for almost 3 years but I recently took a break. I might get back into it one day, but for now I'd like to get into scrapping some more, maybe join a CT. My husband of 8+ years and our sweet little 5 year old daughter are the main subjects of my pages, so you'll start recognizing them soon.

I am from the Land of Lincoln as well, but far far north. (On the Illinios / Wisconsin border).

Such a small world! We live about 2.5 hours straight west of Chicago - our son and DIL live in the city - they are in the process of moving back this way (closer to us!).

Our son is a manager at The Chicago Smoque BBQ place ... have you heard of it?

It definitely sounds familiar, but I barely eat out for bbq food, so i'm not sure if i've eaten there before, lol. Yea, it's amazing how many GS ladies are so close by! (meaning not a plane ride, but a few hours drive, lol)
 
I was once a designer, but I have since retired. I am like you, one day I'll return. I actually thought about it recently, but the small store I was trying for turned me down so I took it as a sign that now wasn't the right time. But someday I'll return, at least I keep telling myself that! LOL

So glad you found us here at GingerScraps!!
