Art Rage & Glitter

Sarah

New member
Okay, I have Art Rage (5.4, I think? Something .4, LOL, just updated).
I also have Photoshop Elements 10 and Paint Shop Pro X3

Any suggestions on how to make easy glitters, INCLUDING ASL files using these?
If I have to, I can open CS 5, but I'd rather not, LOL.

once upon a time I think there was a tutorial on making glitter at DSA, if they still have their tutorial section. I have a tut that was given to me but I can't share it since its not mine :(

Open PS 5 and use it - it's awesome ...but I have no idea how to make glitter! :D

Actually I think I have a doc somewhere, if I can find it I'll send it to you! :)

I'd rather not have to use full Photoshop as much as possible, simply because it's such a RAM hog :(

funny you mention art rage....i have just finished several element packs with glitter. i am on a glitter kick right now:)
i don't use photoshop elements (i use psp), so i don't really know about making styles (ASLs)
but the key to saving what you make in art rage, is to work on a transparent image. like when you start a new project, first thing you do is add a layer, which will automatically be transparent. then when you save be sure to hide the bottom layer, which will save with a white background which you probably won't want.
i know a designer in my CU Freebies group that does lots of tuts, i will put in a request to her about this.

I know how to use the glitter maker in Art Rage, it's the making of it into a pattern and making it ... gah, word fart blank ... seamless

I only know how to do this in CS5, sorry. I wish I could help you in that reguard.
Good luck getting the pattern seamless, that is the key to glitter styles!

I don't know about the styles - I'm PSE 7 and don't really know how to instal them (meaning: I don't have the corrage to instal them :D )
Based on my memory (and a tut that has gone from the site where I read it originally so I cannot control if I'm right) making glitters in PSE is something about using filter --> texturizer --> grain, and then filter --> blur --> gaussian blur.

Did that help?
