Hello from Sunny (but frickin' cold!) Southern California!

Hello ladies! Many of you might remember me... My name is Jen and I used to work here. :chiiickseeking:

I live in Southern California (15 minutes to the beach, 35 or so minutes to the House of the Mouse) with my husband of six years, Travis and our precocious and far too intelligent four year old son Alton.

I designed for a couple of years, but I recently retired. I thought I would pop by and say hello and see what my Gingerbread friends are up to. :)
 
Well hello! I don't think we know each other, just wanted to say HI!! Glad you came back to GS for a look around :)

I'm so glad you've come back to play!!!! for anyone who doesn't know, Jen and I are digi-BFFs and even shared a creative team until her recent retirement! I think I even have a highly politically incorrect Photoshopped picture of the two of us aboard a bus somewhere around here :)

Welcome (back) to GingerScraps!

I'm in SoCal too, 30 minutes to the beach and 60 (on a good day) minutes to the House of Mouse. ...and it is frickin cold here, the sprinklers came on this morning and now the grass is frozen.

Hi Jen & Welcome! Don't think we've ever "met" before (well, unless you count the times you saw my email address in your inbox where I had purchased one of your goodies, lol) - but it's certainly nice to have you joining us here! :)

Welcome back! :) I was bummed when I saw that you were retiring. I have always loved your designs. Oh my - I checked our your baking site and YUM!!!!

How cold is cold in Southern CA? I really don't want to hear that! We are moving to Southern CA in the Spring/Summer!

Okay for people who are used to snow it's not cold, but when the average temperature is 70+ these 57 degree days are rough!

The high temps have been in the low-60's but with the cold winds it feels very chilly - any day I can't wear capri's and flip-flops is frickin cold to me! :D
 
I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you, but I live in Sunny So CA too... and I'm about 15 minutes from Disneyland and 25 minutes from Newport.. so I am trying to figure out where you are... maybe Corona-ish? or more towards LA? We live in Placentia. :)
 
Noooooooooooooo - I don't even want 57 degree days. :( I want 70+!!! I grew up in MN; then moved to NC when I was 20. I lived there for about 7 years. I have been back in MN for almost 3 years. Yeah, I miss the NC weather, so I am stoked for Southern CA!!!! I just don't want it to be 57. I would be complaining too! LOL

Wow - I am impressed with how many Southern CA people there are. There might need to be a GingerScraps get together when I move out there! :) We will be in the Oceanside area.

Since your coming from MN, I'm pretty confident in saying you'll ♥ the weather here, even on the 57 degree days! Here's the forecast for this week...

I live in Torrance. :)
 
Ahh. Torrance.. I grew up in Lawndale! Now, when my parents moved there, it was "country"... we didn't even have sidewalks... so you KNOW how long ago that was! :)
