Thanks, Mishi! I've gone through some of the albums with my Grandpa. Once I get all of the photos scanned, I'm going to email them to my mom and aunt and see if they remember hearing any of the stories. About 20 years ago, my Grandpa wrote an autobiography. It's not extensive, but has some fun stories. Unfortunately, my Grandma has already passed away. She was fairly secretive about her growing up years - I think she had a pretty rough childhood - so we don't have any of her stories.
I feel the same way about my journaling sometimes, but I think the blah, blah, blah is better than nothing

LOL - I am a storyteller and I struggle with pages that have NO journaling. It's easy for me to just tell the story behind the photos, to include my thoughts about a certain event or about the person in the photo, etc. I have TONS of fonts mostly Darcy Baldwin fonts. I have one that looks EXACTLY like my handwriting, so much so that when I wanted to get my own custom font I decided not to because this one was the same as mine! Here is a layout with that font:

DJB I Love Me Some Sheri

This is another favorite font - Ripe

And lastly here is one more fave - DJB Pipsqueak Print

Marie, I'm a story teller too! The photos and layouts are to assist in telling the story. If I do a page with no words on it at all, it feels unfinished.
