    Default Santa Monica Pier

    Has anyone been there?

I was thinking of taking a little 2-3 day trip up that way before school starts up. I just want to make sure it's worth the drive and tackling alone with my 5 year old and 2 year old.

I really just want to ride the ferris wheel, but I thought the aquarium could be fun too. ;)

I haven't been in 13+ years so it's hard for me to say. Then again, I haven't been in 13+ years because last time we were there is was kinda ... seedy, but maybe it's nice now.

You might want to try Long Beach, the Aquarium of the Pacific is really nice, and it's a bit closer for you.

I remember going about 10 years ago. Still worth it.

I haven't been in the last 5-7 years and had a great time, I didn't ride any rides, but they look fun!!

Okay - since the seediness of the pier may or may not be accurate, I decided to have a forced family fun weekend when my hubby gets back this fall! ;)

Thanks for the Long Beach idea, Lisa. I even found a fun hotel to stay at. The Queen Mary Hotel which is a boat! ;) So Long Beach and the aquarium of the Pacific it is. I am sure we can find more things to do in the area to make spending the night worth it. I am debating about the Harbor Tour or the LA Zoo. Does anyone have experience with either of those?

Thanks for all the input, ladies.

I've been to the Queen Mary and took a boat ride to go across which is where the Aquarium of the Pacific is at... the area around there is a fun place to walk around... lots to see..

So I haven't been to the Aquarium, though.. LOL

    here are a few pixies

I also love the Santa Monica Pier... but I don't think it's worth a 3day trip... LOL

But if you want to stop by Disneyland, Cars Land is open.. yay!
