Bummer! I washed my brand new cell phone once so I feel your pain. I still don't own a Kindle but I'm hoping to get one for my birthday in August. I need to start dropping some hints.

There's supposed to be a new version being released, a Fire 2, which goes on sale in August ;)
We're hoping that it means the original will be cheaper ;)

I cried both times my kindle went out on me!! I haven't had any issues with my Nook, but I am sure I would cry with that too!!

$199 is pushing it, , but we're not out the $379 for the DX, because I won that in a Swagbucks Swagstakes

I too love my Kindle. I have the screen protector and cover on it. I think I would cry too if that happened to mine. Did you get it at Best Buy? We got ours there and got the extended warranty on one of them (the kids') and if anything whatsoever happens to it, they replace it for free. Uggh what a pain in the pattooee.

i spilled mt dew on my nook and dried it ok with a fan blowing on it. working fine now.

It spilled right on the power button thing. It got REALLY hot when we tried to turn it on. Hot & Kindles is bad, because they're not designed to get hot.
They're also a LOT thinner than Nooks. Like 2/3 the size, in most cases
