Sometimes I wished I lived in a container ...just for a day or two.

I think the problem with APS is that it lives in the container so you gotta get it out. I'm not sure if the actual film size is much different than regular 35mm negatives except if you had shot some pics in panoramic.

Yeah, I think the problem is that the APS and 35mm negatives are different sizes. I bet you can get it to work with your 35mm scanner, but it just might be a pain trying to get them to line up every time....
