not-happy kids: do you photograph them?
Any tips for photographing my son's teething gums? I want to do a page about how CRANKY he is cuz of the two shovels--I mean, front teeth--trying to force their way through his gums...but he keeps MOVING and SCREAMING (no surprise lol). He has blood under one of them! WTH?! So I want to get a pic and use some of these bloody/scary ellies from all the new awesome Halloween kits! :)
So give me some tips: How to photograph an 8mo crying baby's mouth. (And is it even ethical for a mom to photograph her sad, crying child while he's in pain? I feel guilty not picking him up the moment he whimpers!)
Re: not-happy kids: do you photograph them?
Yes, photograph it! You will be happy later that you did.
Not picking him up will not hurt him at all. As for the actual photographs, hmmm no tips there. Sorry!

over wearing undies instead of a dipe? Sometimes don't you just want to ask your child "Why is this causing you to freak out?" Like, as a truly scientific, fact-finding type of question (not in an "I'm so mad that you're having a tantrum!" Mom way of asking lol).

My oldest granddaughter had a complete meltdown the first time her mom put her in shorts for school. I mean total meltdown!! When we asked her why, she said that she didn't want to look like a big black guy. WHY did she say that? They had a close friend who was a big black guy and wore shorts all the time!! lol
They do have meltdowns over some of the weirdest things! As if a tiny little white girl (she has always been small for her size - still in 2 and 3T's when she started Kinder) could be mistaken for a big black guy!! lol

I agree! Photograph everything! They are all memories...good and not so good. And you know what else...WRITE DOWN the cute things they say! You think you will always remember...but you wont! You will forget! And when your kids are teenagers they will LOVE to look at all those funny pictures and read the funny things they said!

Oh and as for photo tips...get down to his level and snap away. Take more then you think, 1 out of 20 shots might be good. :) And try to use natural light so you don't have to flash the already mad little guy.
