I am going to try the TIFF files on my next LO
They don't take that long for me either, seriously. If I had to wait longer than 10 seconds, I'd quit!
These are the settings I use... it honestly takes longer to open a tiff than save for me..... ?

Michelle, I use the same settings :D
It's what was suggested to me by several designers :D
I always save in PSD but when I'm using templates, I like to have TIFF too. I like the "preview" you get with the TIFF. I save my layouts in TIFF as well so they "show up" in my folder.
Here is what I do...[because it works for me]
As I am scrapping, I save psd.
when I am done... I then save tiff [so I have the layers not the size and I can 'see' in windows explorers. I also [to save extra space] get rid of the clipped layers and extra whole papers. I figure why have the kit /tempate twice- but there is a tutorial on that coming soon].
I save what I will print as jpeg
and
delete the psd.
totally happy with my plan.

Ahh... just saw Michelle's posting with her tiff settings. YES, the same ones I use. I do not understand why some use other ones that make a BIG file size...

My TIFFs take longer also...but I still do it for the preview, LOVE
Oh I LOOOVE TIFFS! And the save time isn't that much longer for me, so the perk of having a preview is worth the extra few seconds... It's so much nicer being able to see what each file is now! WoOt! If I had extra time, I'd go through my stash of psd only files and tiff them.
Yeah the extra time to change everything to TIFFS would be amazing!! :D
