Fire! Fire! Fire!

Oh my goodness... we have fires springing up everywhere! Not only is it crazy hot but we've had hot winds and smoke from fires in our air for two weeks now. Just when one fire gets under control, a few more spring up! We watched fireworks from the deck tonight and also watched the glow of orange on the mountains across the valley, dangerously close to more homes. And then the moon rose above the mountains not far from the fires, and it too was orange from the smoke in the air! We thought it was another fire springing up. Every day we come home smelling like campfire and our house does too. We continue to pray for the firefighters and for those whose homes are in danger or have already been destroyed. And praying for rain!!! Here's a close up of the fire near homes and that building is the Draper Temple. The Salt Lake Valley is big and we were watching from the from the other side.

WOW!! I can say that I understand. Last September, when the Bastrop Texas wildfire took out over 36,000 acres and 1600 homes and burned for a month it was less than 5 miles from my home. SCARY!!! Will keep praying for all!!!

Jen that is just such a stunning photo ---- beautiful colors, horrible consequences because of the fire - I can't even imagine having it so close!!

So scary; totally not looking forward to another summer of drought and wildfires here in TX. :(

since i live in so. CA i totally understand...i've had fires waaaay to close also, it can be scary...sending prayers that you get rain soon and also for the brave firefighters that work so hard to control mother nature.

That is scary! Please stay safe out there!

We're at risk of fires here and we had the idiots who shot Roman candles at each other, catching an apartment complex on fire.

My heart goes out to y'all and everyone affected by mother nature lately.

That is so scary! I hope it's under control now. There have been way too many fires this summer.
