Prayers and Positive thoughts needed

Hi everyone!
I am headed off to a school counseling conference in Minneapolis this week and just found out from my mom that my dad is in ICU unable to breathe on his own with asphixation pneumonia that keeps coming back because he can no longer swallow on his own, and there are "dark spots" on one of his lungs. He is sedated and on a ventilator and Mom called me last night to have "the talk about what he wants". It is grim. He is only 70. I live across the state from my parents and have not seen them yet this year. We were going up after the 4th of July, though it may be that I have to leave the conference and go say my good byes this week... If you could all pray that whatever is to be happens smoothly and without further complications for any of us and for strength and peace for us, it would mean alot to me....SIGH..... Thanks all...:(

oh sweetie...this is so hard to hear!! Of course many prayers and hugs being sent your way for you and your loved ones.

What a difficult situation. It's hard when you have to watch someone you love so much at the end of their life and make those decisions. I was just thinking this morning about when my grandpa was in hospice. Sigh. I hope everything goes smoothly for you and your mom. This is never easy, but you two will give each other strength. Sending positive thoughts your way. <3

Thank you everyone! No news today, and I don't know if that is good or bad....and I am off to catch a flight. Taking information with me in case I need to get a flight from the conference to my parent's town just in case. Packed for both "venues". Guess I have to take this one day by day. Also got myself some bach's rescue remedy (holistic support) and some other flower essences that work well to ease my anxiety. I do really appreciate being able to come to Gingerscraps and share, and find such wonderful support. Thank you everyone. I am heading off now...Thank you so much....Hugs back...
