I'm in the process of merging my two blogs together, as one BIG one! I see a lot of people who have cute tabs with pictures or digi scrapping tabs. So, I'm wondering, if anyone knows how I can customize my tabs using a photo or png file? I don't like how it is just plain the way it is. I've attached a few examples for you :)
One blog has transparent "tape" as her tabs and the other has hers centered and in a cute font!

I don't even know how you get links across the top instead of down the side in the first place, so obviously I'm no help. My blog is in desperate need of a makeover, so I'm curious to see how this is done. Hope someone can help you!
ETA: I wonder though if it's kind of like making a multi-link siggy?

I just tested this out on my test blog (http://ellietestblog1.blogspot.com/) and it seems the way to do it is to go to your dashboard > Design > Page Elements. Then there should be a box under your header where you can add a gadget. Add the HTML/Javascript gadget and then use HTML to customize it.
To center your images/links, put them between these tags:Image tags in HTML should look like this:HTML Code:<center></center>
To make your image linkable it should look like this:HTML Code:<img src="YOURIMAGECODEHERE">

I was playing around on my blog today as well. Finally decided to tackle a makeover. I had tabbed a menu on my blog that I had implemented probably a year ago but I couldn't remember how I accomplished it or if it also required some HTML coding. After a little exploring today, I realized I had accomplished just like Ellie indicated above except I have my header and the individual tab pieces all in one page element. Not sure why I did it that way but it works and it was easy enough to update today.

One question though. If I have a new page added in blogger for About Me, or Contact. Won't there be two lines? One for blogger and then the one I made in HTML? Does that make sense? haha
I'm not sure. I'd actually have to see your design to know how they got there. Is there a gadget for them in your page elements? If there is then I would just copy the urls for those pages to your HTML gadget and then remove the Pages gadget.
Laaura, if you figure this out...maybe you will just have to do mine! LOL! I was just thinking today. I need to merge my photo and scrap/life blog all into one..I want those tabs!!
