View Full Version : Stocking Stuffers for 10mo boy

I just realized that I don't have a single thing for DS's stocking. Normally that wouldn't bother me--he's 10 months old lol--but I know that my 5yo DD will notice and want to know why her little brother didn't get anything from Santa. So what should I get him? It needs to be small enough to fit in his stocking but big enough not to be a chocking hazard. Got any ideas?

With my kids first holidays (Easter, Christmas, etc) I got them whatever was age appropriate. Baby cereal, jars of baby food, little teething cookies, etc. Maybe some bibs? Check Dollar tree for some small cheap ratlles, blocks, etc.

I was thinking same lines as Missi - SNACKS :D Fingerfoods, little things like that :)

or a little stuffed toy, my son is two and that's what I've done. Just some treats (snacks) and a stuffed toy (for St. Nick he got a mini Mickey Mouse plush). Done. :)

for 10 mos...those teething cookies r the BEST!!! (even if they r not teething they r a healthy snack and not a chocking hazard) any of the safe small toys that rattle or stuff. they make some that r long and also work for teething.
been a very long while since i've had that age LOL

I think we'll go with snacks. We make all his food (including his teething biscuits), but we do keep some Baby Mum Mums on hand for when we travel. I'll put a few in his stocking along with a new teether. That'll make him happy--he's a biter!
Well, I'm glad I thought about this BEFORE Christmas Eve lol! Thanks for the ideas, ladies! I knew I could count on y'all!

Oooh - you make your own teething biscuits - thats one thing I havent made - but usually make most of my baby food - can I get the recipe?! Not that I need it NOW....but it'll be here before we know it!
Baby Mum Mums are the best for in the diaper bag on the go! :D

Trina, I found this recipe originally in an issue of Real Simple magazine, but this is a pretty old recipe. These are super duper easy. But MESSY. lol. Just make sure you use REAL maple syrup. :)
1 1/2 cups of unbleached flour
1/2 cup of whole wheat flour
1/2 cup of pure maple syrup
3 TB applesauce
Heat oven to 300. Mix all ingredients until dough begins to hold together.
Dust counter with flour, knead lightly for about 3 minutes.
Use more flour if dough is too sticky to handle. (i used a lot of extra flour)
Roll out with a rolling pin until 1/3 inch thick) Cut out biscuits with an inverted cup.
Cut out holes with a doughnut cutter or water bottle (i used a baby bottle).
Transfer to a greased cookie sheet. Bake until barely browned, about 35 minutes.
Let cool and now they are ready to eat, bite or suck on (under supervision).
They will harden more if you leave out overnight (covered with towel). Yum.
NOTE: keep in freezer! They're harder and they take longer to get "mushy," so they last longer.
