Ethan got glasses. Ray Bans! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/sarahcb21/8182864551/)

He's so little but looks SO cute, IMO!
He's 7, but I think he looks older. Josh thinks he looks younger.

I truly hope so. I admit that I cried a little when I found out that she needs them. I think she'll be fine, she has amazing self-confidence, but most of my self esteem issues start from my glasses that I got, also when I was in 2nd grade. :(

He looks so serious and studious. You have a handsome little boy.

I'm truly worrying that my daughter might need glasses considering she watch tv, ipad, etc. as such a young age (she's just 2.5 years old). I can only do my best to limit her tv time and eat healthy fruits and veggies.

Glasses, now, are so much more common place. Ethan's like one of six or seven now that wear glasses, out of 20-something kids. In his class alone.
There are SO many cute styles. Ethan tried on 5 pairs, and they were all blue, and SO cute. I seriously wish I had a smaller head so I could wear some of their styles (and that's saying something considering I absolutely adore my current pair)

Thank you.

Ethan and Madi (my 9-year-old daughter) both watched TV and played on handhelds (Leapsters) when they were younger. Madi has her dad's vision, which is better than 20/20 (he's one of those disgustingly perfect vision people). Ethan has my vision (which I hope doesn't mean his will get as bad as mine, as I'm 20/200 or worse).
A lot of it has to do with genetics. Families where a majority of people wear glasses, their kids will probably end up with glasses.

i did too, and cliff was super upset to have passed his bad eyes on to the kids, but the way i see it is i'm going to let her have at least 2 pairs of glasses every so many years so she can feel like they are fun like ear rings and match them to her outfits and such.

I like that idea, I may have to let her have 2 pairs too! Thanks Rach :)

My son got a cool pair of camo glasses from Zenni Optical and everyone comments on them. We let him pick out 3 pairs from Zenni since they were only $7 each! I think letting them choose a pair they love really helps. Also, kids are hard on glasses, so you definitely need more than one pair.

There are other colors combos too and are only $6.95!

Very cute!! I haven't dared to purchase glasses online yet, I look at all the sites but I am afraid the sizing or something will be wrong.

I'm scared of that too, but after $250, I might be willing, just so we have some spares.

I just get Aidan the 9.00 frames at Walmart because he goes through so many a year. The way my boys fight they are constantly flying off of his face or he is misplacing them and they get bent and then playing sports etc etc so I figure until he gets older I will only get him the cheap ones. I would like to purchase online though but I don't know how to get the PD-Pupillary Distance

We got the insurance thing on the glasses. First 90 days, they replace for free. After that, $25. I'm good with that :D

They explain how to measure it on the site or you cm call your eye doctor and ask. Ours is on our prescription. We haven't had any trouble with Zenni and it's been great to have backups when the expensive ones need repair.

Yeah, I'm worried with mine that there would be issues. They almost couldn't do the ones I have now with the lenses I needed (I'm getting close to needing the coke-bottle lenses :O)

he's an adorable 7yo, whoever he looks more like! And he's got such a serious look on his face, which is a great juxtaposition with that sammie he's eating. :)

not to hijack the thread, but zenni really is awesome. I picked these (https://www.zennioptical.com/?nav_cat_id=2&q=%20%09751124&navused=1) up in Sept. Gotta love a little skull-and-bones action! :) I think everyone who wears glasses should have at least 2 pairs. I mean, we wear different outfits every day, so why wouldn't you want to "wear" different glasses too? :) And as far as kids breaking/losing them...yeah, I hope if my kids need glasses we can order them from zenni!)

I suggested Zenni to a neighbor. In the past 12 months, her son has gone through SEVEN pairs of glasses :O
