Anyone been there? Anyone live there?

We are heading there this fall for a vacation. What are the must sees?

So far on the list are the following:
Alcatraz
Cable Cars
Chinatown
City Bus Tour
Golden Gate Bridge
Muir Woods

Thanks! :)

I ♥ SF!! Fisherman's Wharf and Ghirardelli Square (hmm, both food related?) ...and a Banana Special at Fentons. :D

Dress warm, it's always cold, even in summer!

Are you driving? Nothing beats a trip up Highway 1 through Big Sur, Carmel and Monterrey - it's really friggen long though!

I love SF! My sister lived there for a few years, now she lives an hour north and my stepsister is an hour south.

If you're going with kids and want to add an afternoon of semi-educational fun, I highly recommend the California Academy of Sciences (http://www.calacademy.org/) - that place is so cool, especially the indoor rain forest!

Oh my gosh! I took a trip there about 8 years ago and we had the best time. Just the girls, my sister, mom and I. We did the following over the 10 day trip.

Ferry ride and tour of Alcatraz
Rode Cable Cars
Visited Chinatown
Conservatory of Flowers, which is part of the Golden Gate Park
Bus Tour that included a stop at the Palace Of Fine Arts (a must see) Golden Gate Bridge and several other attractions and neighborhoods.
Ferry ride over to Sausalito, which is filled with quaint shops and art galleries.
Bus Trip to Napa and Sonoma to tour several wineries.
We stayed within walking distance of Fisherman's Wharf so we spent a lot of time in that area when we didn't have something specific planned. We also walked down to Ghirardellia Square several times. Yummy chocolate and ice cream. I actually lost weight on the vacation from all the walking.

I really want to go again and take my hubby!

If only we had more time! We are heading there with my family and are splitting their vacation time between there and San Diego. ;)
