Is it me, or is the forum unnaturally quiet lately?

I do suppose the gorgeous weather almost everywhere has a little something to do with it- everyone wants to be outside! :)

From my window I see not a cloud in the sky, so blue and bright today! With my little guy just starting his nap, the sun shining in the window, it's so blissfully quiet and so lovely!

:yellIs anyone else out there? Hello....ello.......ello.....ello!
hehe hehe :hi

I'm just so busy, I can barely find time to check my email! But once school is out, we'll get into our summer routine and be here more often. :)

I think after all the craziness of NSD, everyone takes a little break.

I totally get the busy bit! Though I wasn't on straight through NSD weekend I can imagine you'd need some serious recovery time. LOL

I'm still here. We went to a sheep sheering festival on Saturday. It was really fun. My DD (10) LOVES the hand spinning wheel that I got for my husband because I KNEW he REALLY wanted it, even if we didn't have funds for it! (I've spent $15 less wisely before! lol) So that shot Saturday. Sunday I don't even check my email, so I'm sorry you all missed me then! Today was the final day for one of the homeschool groups that I co-leader. We had a party in the park. So- the plan was to have a waterballoon fight on the grass. Long story short, they changed that, but only AFTER I went to the store to get them. While I was there, I decided to buy bananas as well. Well, they had put some chicken fryers & drumsticks on sale for $0.59/lb. So I came home with 3 packages of the fryers, and 2 of the drumsticks (about $15 or so). As I was putting the fryers into the crockpot for dinner, I decided to see if I could take off some of the meat to save for later. Needless to say, I ended up getting 12 soup bones, 12 chicken breasts, 12 chicken tenders, and 3-4 dinners worth of drumsticks. Meat for 10 dinners! Yeah baby! :)

THAT's why I wasn't here this morning!

I have been uber busy too --- which is sorta out of the norm for me ... hopefully by mid week things will be a little better --- our son and DIL are staying with us for a few days and it is amazing how it throws a wrench in my everyday routine!

Speaking of dinners, I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF for making yummy good dinner tonight!
1. I hate cooking, it's true. Mostly because the kitchen is small and the mess afterward is always so UGH! hehe
2. I really REALLY don't like peppers, or asparagus, or tofu but...

IT WAS REALLY GOOD!

wheat rotini, red pepper, asparagus, mushroom, tofu, basil, parmesan balsamic dressing and fresh grated parmesan!

I agree - it is quiet!! I'm an obsessive forum-checker, and I feel like lately there hasn't even been many threads to catch up on! We are busy too though - getting the garden going and yard work.

That looks pretty tasty! I LOVE to cook! Over the past week, I have tried out several new recipes.

chipotle chicken tacos
beef and broccoli
sweet and sour chicken
lemon and garlic chicken
honey lime chicken
curried cauliflower
chocolate coconut milk mousse

Wow - I have made more then I was initially thinking. lol

I think the end of school year rush is upon us! :) It was crazy last week for me, and so now I'm playing catch-up, both online and IRL. I've lost count the number loads of laundry I've done... but have yet to put away! LOL! I think there is more clothing sitting behind my sofa (where I stand to fold/put on hangers) than there now is hanging in everyone's closets.

Glad I'm not the only one! Except our clothes are still in the laundry baskets!

Yeah - I have a full laundry hamper. I thought I had everything put away; then ran across a large and full laundry hamper downstairs. This was on Friday. It's still kind of sort of sitting there! ;)

Sigh - I never manage to stay caught up with laundry. :P

Okay friends, I made ANOTHER delicious dinner tonight! And I want to share it with you (via my blog) BUT I have to warn you I speak in a...colorful language sometimes so if that offends you either overlook it (because this IS a great recipe) OR just enjoy my amazing commentary ;)

"Finely chop onion (I used a food chopper but if you’re some slickb**** and can use a knife all skilled like, then have at it)." - I LOVE that I am some slickb**** ;) teehee

Side note - I loved the post about Fifty! I am quite fond of him too! That was an intense trilogy in the not normal thought of intense! I read all three books in about hmmm - 4 days tops. I don't know if I should be admitting to that though... ;)

lol, I read this and about 30 minutes later I went to DD's closet... and discovered a hamper in there. I'd totally forgotten that DH and I had redone her closet a few weeks ago and we gave her her own hamper. Whoops. Off to do another stoooopid load of laundry. ;)
