My name is Rhoda & I'm from southwest Arkansas. Is everyone like me still trying to wrap up the Christmas preparation?:) I'm a teacher & Friday was my last day. I spent most of my time & energy with school activities so it's time for me to finish up on the homefront.
I've been digiscrapping for about 7 years and was one the first to join DST when it opened.I had taken a break from digi and was doing more paper crafting. I'm trying to incorporate digi & hybrid projects now.
I am a cutting machine junkie!:shh I have a Cricut Expression at school & at home I have a Bosskut Gazelle, Cricut Cake, Silhouette SD & my latest is a Silhouette Cameo. The Cameo can cut 12x12 plus it has an optical eye. What this means is that you can open items from digital kits, use the Silhouette software to allow these things to be cut out. Here is an example of the first item that I did a print & cut of. http://gardeniagreetings-rhoda.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html The possibilities for digital kits is endless.:)
The rest of my blog shows projects that I've made plus a few recycling projects that I've done also. I have a few more Christmas projects that I want to finish this week so I will upload them whenever they are completed. http://gardeniagreetings-rhoda.blogspot.com/
This looks like a fun forum to hang out on!
thanks, Rhoda

Thank is SO neat Rhonda! I am in Southwest Tennessee, so we're just neighbors :) We drive thru Texarkana when heading to visit my family every year.

I love the Cricut machines!

Hi Rhoda, Welcome!

Those print and cuts are adorable! I make cutting files for Silhouette, Cricut, etc., but I haven't yet learned how to make print-and-cut stuff. That is something I need to learn! (As soon as I take my Silhouette out of the box and plug it in, and learn how to use it!! LOL!) I haven't used it yet, haven't even used my own cutting files, as I have a couple of good friends who do all my file-testing for me... but I am now holding off on making any more cutting files until I actually learn to use the cutter myself! :) I just have to set some time on my schedule/calendar and learn how! :)

Hope you'll feel right at home here! Looking forward to seeing more of your hybrid stuff -very cool! :)

I'm from Central Arkansas (just south of Little Rock) so we really are neighbors! I so want one of those machines now, that is so cool! I kind of went off the deep end when I started paper scrapping, tho, so I would definitely have to make more room!

Welcome to GS! Can't wait to check out your blog... I'm envious of anyone who even knows how to use those cutting machines, LOL... I'm hybrid handicapped. Looking forward to getting to know you better.

This week I converted a hybrid file of "creations by Julie" and I turned it into an svg file. Svg is a universal file format for cutting machines. I am anxious to cut it out and assemble. I will upload my completed project when I finish.
It's exciting to me that digital files can be used in cutting machines. I think that is truly hybrid, lol!

OH MY! This is absolutely amazing! I want one now! My husband just acknowledged how big of me it was to sell my cuttlebug and hundreds of $$ of cartridges last Christmas (2010). I didn't get hundreds, but I got rid of it! I don't think he'll allow that thing to take it's place, although you just put that on my wish list!

(PS- welcome!)
