Yay, we will start in just a bit.

05-06-2011, 07:26 PM
Is the speed scrap right here?? Where is the chat room?!

05-06-2011, 07:31 PM
I found it!!!!!!!!!!!!

05-06-2011, 07:33 PM
Yes, you can do the SS here, or in the Chat room which ever works, here is the first direction, and I will be posting them all right here as well as the chat room.

1. choose a background paper (solid or patterned) and then stack that with a solid paper on top in the center.

2. I have really been enjoying blocking. All the layouts that I see with blocking appeal to me. Blocking is just several square pieces of paper, that are lined up evenly. They can be different sizes or the same size. For simplicity sake lets do ours all the same size. I'm going to make 6 square blocks at 3.5 x 3in, Feel free to make your square any size you want to. Line up your 6 squares in 2 rows either horizontal or vertical on your layout. Use lots of different patterned papers for your blocking.

3. Now for choosing the pictures. Put at least 4 pictures in a row, so it looks like a photo strip. Mat them all on one strip of paper. Your pictures can go horizontally or vertically, it is your choice. The size is also your choice, mine are 2.75 x 2.25in. Offset/rotate your photo strip a little bit, and place it somewhere on top of your paper blocking.

Optional: Duplicate your pictures and mat, and offset it just a little bit more behind your first photo strip.

4.Use lots of stitches to hold down your block paper squares from step 2. I put all my stitches behind the photo strip, but on top of the blocking.

5. Add at least 10 elements (not counting the stitches)

6. Put a nice big bold title on your layout, and your journaling on a mat. It would be fun if your title, or part of your title could go vertical instead of horizontal. Not a must though, because I know you make your title to fit your layout, not the other way around.

7. Add shadows, final touches and anything else your layout needs in order for you to love it. Post it here and in the SS Gallery under challenges. And don’t forget to leave some love to the other layouts! Thank you for joining me. I had a blast!

You have until 8:00 p.m. MST to finish then I will send you out a participation prize and a coupon to Pretty in Green's store

Make sure you guys put on here if you used GS products or not, so you can get the right amount of points for the cookie jar :) This weekend is double points, so it is really worth it.

05-06-2011, 09:56 PM
I need directions for posting my LO please...it is waaaay huge. :o

05-06-2011, 10:20 PM
These are directions for a one pager, so if you have a two pager (but I'm guessing no) let me know.

Always save your PSD FIRST. Then, go to Image>Resize Image> change the ppi box from 300 to 72 first then above that spot change the dimensions from whatever it says to 600 px square. In the drop down menu at the bottom select bicubic sharper and click okay......then under File>Save for web and devices when the menu comes up make sure you have jpg selected and then change the slider down to something like 60....it should make the size under the photo to the left be something UNDER 150k click okay and save this file. This is the one you will upload to galleries and the forum.

Let me know if you need more help

05-06-2011, 10:23 PM
Wish the SS could be in the evening. My days are way too busy...

I was confused by "blocking", wasn't quite sure what was meant...
100% GS product.

Great layouts everyone...just about to go leave some love in the gallery :)

05-07-2011, 12:12 AM
I was late to the speed scrap because I was out having this joyful morning and taking photos.

Here's mine:

I told you I liked clustering. I didn't really count, but I think I've got more than 10 elements.

05-07-2011, 12:18 AM
They are beautiful - EhKho I think your blocking is great. I love seeing everyone's interpretation.

05-07-2011, 12:23 AM
Thank you Melinda :)

05-07-2011, 12:56 PM
Make sure you guys put on here if you used GS products or not, so you can get the right amount of points for the cookie jar :) This weekend is double points, so it is really worth it.

i just want to pop on here, if any one will see, Speed Scraps are NOT part of the Cookie Jar Points drawing, Speed Scrappers get prizes. sorry for the confusion :( but please feel free to play in any of the other challengs and earn the points :)

05-07-2011, 12:59 PM
all the layouts look Fantastic!! btw :)

05-07-2011, 03:05 PM
I'm so sorry, I thought they were since they are listed under the challenges. My bad.
